We Love Colors Review

It seems odd to note that after all the tights I have worn on this blog, I have never written a formal review of tights. Well, We Love Colors was kind enough to send me a couple of pairs and I'm happy to use this opportunity "talk tights."
In the gif, I'm wearing the Nylon/Lycra Microfiber Tights in red and forest green.
As the title of the shop implies they come in nearly every color imaginable and always are so bright in person. The nylon/lycra microfiber tights are very opaque with high elasticity; meaning they stretch to fit, but don't overstretch with long wear. They're quite thick and not given to runs. Overall, I'd say We Love Colors would be the best place to buy quality, colorful tights online.
Here's a few tips on tights maintenance:
1. Wash your tights by hand in the sink or tub with warm water and a small amount of detergent.
2. Rinse them with clean water.
3. Wring out excess liquid and lay flat on a towel to dry.
Don't put your tights in the washing machine or dryer, or hang them to dry: this will overtax the elasticity of them. Only wash like colors together.

  1. I have to say, while I'm sure those tights are awesome, I hope no one tricks themselves into thinking that the cheap ones on the site are going to be as good as nice microfiber. Last year I bought a whole bunch of cheap pastel tights and the quality was so bad, not what I was hoping for at all! I returned most of them... next time I'll know to spend a few more dollars. :)

  6. I'm just too lazy to wash tights by hand and I haven't experienced any disastrous results so far. Guess I'm pushing my luck?

  9. Thanks for sharing! I feel like Spring is so close and I'm worried to buy tights before the weather where I stop wearing them, but that website is so great. And, being a former ballerina, always washed my tights by hand - it's the best! And if you wear them all the time, it's the most economical way to go.

    love your blog! Best,
    Kelly

  12. @anja louise, I've seen the cheaper ones and they do seem more sheer, but the microfiber ones that I have are definitely a good quality. These aren't my first pair from them and the other ones are over a year old and still great. I guess it is a case of "you get what you pay for."
@Kelly Anne, the nude shoes are DKNY...can't wait for spring weather to wear them in. :)

  15. The red tights are wonderful, can't wait for my own pair.

I always wash my tights in the delicate/ knit cycle of the washing machine and then lay them flat to dry. They seem to last me for years.

  32. What brand is the black wedges you are wearing here? I love them!

  33. Good to know! It's so hard to judge the quality of online tights, and so frustrating when you buy a pair that runs on the first day you read it.

  34. Thanks for the tights care tips! I used to hand-wash a lot of my clothing, including tights, but I find everything endures pretty well in a side-loading washer on delicate cycle with cold water. It saves so much time.

  35. I love colorful tights! This post was great! I never wash my tights by hand... but maybe I should start.

  36. Oh my gosh! Thank you so much for this! I've been sitting around, refusing to google, waiting for someone to tell me how to wash my tights. My mom's just like "put them in the washer," Oh nay nay dear friend, I am not taking that chance.

  37. Great tips, I have so many pairs on the go and end up hand washing them but I have had a few colour run mishaps. One cream pair has strange red and blue patches!

  45. Good to know! I'm definitely a fan of coloured tights, but have been at a loss at where to buy them other than getting HUE tights. Seriously, I don't want just HUE... so limiting.

  46. @Katherine, the shoes are from UO. I'll try to do a shoe post some time...I don't think I have a favorite brand though; I like lots of brands.
