I first saw this dress almost a year ago at Rachel Antonoff's presentation. The scene was a teenage dream; the models were placed around the house playing in sheet forts, making s'mores, and generally looking like they were having a blast. Even then in the crowded setting filled with lovely clothes and interesting people, this dress stood out to me. I wanted it bad. Months and months later it reached Modcloth's site and shortly after that it was in my grubby little paws. It's pretty much as fantastic on as I had imagined. I decided to play up the school girl style with loafer heels and a bow in my ponytail. This is definitely the sort of styling that makes me look much younger than I am, but occasionally I can't resist it.

ReplyDeleteThat outfit is very Sailor Moon. Shades of your high school uniform, too... intentional?
ReplyDeleteI like it!
So very cute! You come up with color combination I would not have thought of!
ReplyDeleteI swooned over that dress as well! Love the color and sailor collar and you wear it perfectly.
ReplyDeletelove sailor dress

@Cecelia, haha! it does remind me of a school uniform, but not my own b/c that one was blue & white & it was a sailor blouse & skirt...and I never would have been allowed to style it with tights or brown shoes. :)
ReplyDeleteThat red dress is so pretty! I love the collar.

It feels very, very Madeleine (the French cartoon); it just needs a jaunty little straw hat, and you will be 100% lunching along the River Seine.

ReplyDeleteThat dress is absolutely adorable
ReplyDeleteyou look so cute, like a cheerleader or something! Or how my English self imagines cheerleaders!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that dress. It looks so perfect on you! Love the styling with the beige tights and bag, too - it's a nice unexpected contrast from the bright red. So cute!
ReplyDeleteOMG you look adorable in that outfit Rebecca!!! What do you think of white tights and flat black mary Janes or red tights with either silver or black ballet flats to go with the outfit?
ReplyDeletelove the sailor collar. so cute.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous, I think there's a lot of styling options and I think what I personally would wear isn't the only way to dress. So, red tights to me seem slightly extreme, but it could work. White tights and black mary janes would be a very cute, very young look.
ReplyDeleteI love this on you. I've always loved red on redheads (I am a red head as well). The blue, and red look so nautical. Great dress.
ReplyDeleteMy Heart Blogged
Hi again Rebecca! I guess red tights would be too extreme. What about red shoes or tennis sneakers (without tights)would that look okay?
ReplyDeleteYou look darling in this dress! It suits you so well!
