No one is asking, but if someone did: this is what I would wear out dancing this summer. I actually wore this dress with more sensible flats for day, but I couldn't resist putting on some fuchsia lipsick and gold heels to imagine an evening out on the town. After all, so much of the fun of going out is getting ready, no? Even for my dressy sartorial sensibilities, these shoes are a tad too fancy for day, which makes me sad because they're quite comfortable and so pretty.

Outfit details:
Erica Weiner necklace
Rebecca Minkoff purse via gift bag
It's always fun to dress up fancier than needed ;)
ReplyDeleteYou make me wish to wear my lace dress, highest heels, and bouffant hair for a day at the market. ;)

Oh, this amuses me. I have been looking for a dress to wear out dancing on my birthday, and have my eye on this very one - I have a post going up tomorrow with my full wish list (partly so I can find them easily on payday, ha!). It looks gorgeous on you though, especially with the shoes... and is making me consider it even more seriously. Lovely!

The shoes are very pretty. Maybe if you paired them with a casual dress and a cardigan you would think of them as more "everyday".
ReplyDelete@meowsk, they're from last fall. I don't remember the name & they aren't sold on the seychelles site anymore.
ReplyDelete@jess, idk, I've had them for a year & have tried them with different looks (in front of my mirror)...they still feel fancy to me with every look.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to dress up pretty, then you can do it if you want? I am sure, no one will look weird on you, because you choose to be a little more festive one day. :)
ReplyDeleteWhenever I listen to my voice on recording I cridge! Very interesting podcast though! Thanks for sharing! :)

i love the windswept picture, it's so beautiful.
ReplyDeletei hope i don't sound creepy, but what part of virginia do you live in (at least for now)? i'm from richmond and i've always been jealous of blogger meet ups because absolutely no one lives near me!
anyways, just curious. we don't have beaches like the one you posted @ amber's blog in richmond!
I love the top of the dress this is stunning! xx
ReplyDeleteI would agree, almost all the fun of going out is getting dressed/ being dressed up!
ReplyDeleteAlso, just listened to you interview with your sister- really intriguing. Loved hearing about a day in the life!
This is really nice. I loved how structured and simple it is.
ReplyDeleteI love your little black dress! Those shoes are amazing with it. So pretty
ReplyDeleteThis is really pretty, especially with that necklace.
ReplyDeleteAlso, your voice, in that interview with your sister, is really not at all what I expected. It's nice though!
I love this outfit so much! You look stunning in that little black dress, and the nude heels make your legs look super long! I definitely agree half the fun is getting ready. I love your blog, but have been to shy to post, glad I finally did!

That dress is so flattering on you!
ReplyDeletei've never ordered from asos before, but i am about to soon for the first time and i am wondering how you feel their sizes run. i know you have quite a few dresses from them so i was hoping you could help :)
ReplyDelete@rocio, I'd say they generally run true to size. It is a bit tricky b/c there is the ASOS brand, but then other brands as well carried in the shop & each brand does have its own unique sizing system. But generally, the size I am in other brands is the same at ASOS.
ReplyDeleteOne good thing: free shipping both ways; I often buy things from ASOS & return them when they don't fit or I don't like the way it looks.
