Traveling Down The Tracks

The shirt and pants felt very Funny Face to me (in the beginning before Audrey is transformed from beatnik to model), but that whole silhouette and feel ended up getting drowned in knits--which isn't a bad way to go, if you think about it. I've really been forcing myself to wear more pants this fall. It's funny how quietly restricting dresses and skirts can be and I never notice until I put on pants or shorts again. I have a friend who claims she can't wear dresses because her body is almost constantly in a comfortable sprawl that would be rather exposing if she was wearing dresses. I don't even notice the way I cross my legs when sitting, or how I'll casually brush my hand against my skirt while walking to make certain it isn't riding up--it all comes naturally at this point. Then I put on a pair of pants and suddenly I feel like I should be climbing over fences (although climbing a fence is how I ripped my favorite pair of jeans--be wary of stray wires with pointy ends)...

Agreed, I've always been one to proclaim the comfort of wearing a dress, but pants instantly make you want to be more active and feel less restrained in your posture. Love this look and love Audrey's pre-transformation look in Funny Face too. : )

It looks super snuggly! I actually find pants restrict my movement more than a skirt and tights - but each to their own!

I'm very much the same; I'm always checking my skirts and dresses, casually twirling, but throw some pants on me and I'm jumping, skipping, ready to jump a prison gate at any moment.

This outfit really does remind me of Audrey's in Funny Face. Love that movie.. in fact, I think I'll watch it when I get home.

@Jean, um, yes skinny jeans--I think that's been demonstrated through my outfits (like this one), no? Anyway, I'm 5'1" and I've never had luck with wide-leg trousers or very cropped pants, or a number of other styles; you're limited with what won't drown your frame when you're petite. :)

I love your style! double kudos for this perfectly pulled together pants look. It's always so tricky to me as well and I feel exactly like you, I am so comfortable in my skirts and dresses that I forget that pants, jeans and shorts has something to say as well :D
