Pugly Pixel Photoshop Tutorial

Hi, I'm Katrina and I blog at Pugly Pixel. Here's a short tutorial that shows you how to create black and white photos with areas of color that catch the eye. If you're a fashion blogger, this technique is especially good for photos with a very busy background. For example, you might find yourself at a crowded concert or on a busy street and you just want to focus on yourself or your pals.
Anyway, Rebecca's photos are beautiful just as they are. But, we thought they also make great examples for this tutorial. If you want to follow along, you'll only need Photoshop and one of your photos. By the way, if you don't have Photoshop, you can download a full-featured 30-day demo version here.
We hope you enjoy this tutorial!

Excellent tutorial. The effect makes the top photo look so mysterious and as if it's from a film. Beautiful dress too!
