Castles In The Sky

The other day Thomas and I drove over to the Crom Estate for a wee nosy. He had visited the West Wing of the castle before for a wedding and it seemed like a logical place to start our explorations, however when we got close to that building we were promptly directed to the broader grounds because filming was in progress. Shortly after that we passed a member of the film crew wearing a Game Of Thrones shirt so our theories as to what was being shot were flying hot and fast. Only the West Wing was closed off to visitors so we still got to walk around the grounds which were home to creepy ancient yew trees (which have been growing there since the 1700s) and ruins of the old castle. We had beautiful weather for walking and I really can't get enough castle ruins; I find them far more charming than the still-standing castles and estates in good working order.

Maybe it wasn't built to 'run' at all, maybe it was built as ruins. I learned in my first semester of Arts History that during the time of the picturesque, a lot of buildings were built as ruins as to make them picturesque. Though, sometimes they don't have to be ruins, just have to look a little like one.

Is this the same ruins that were on Quiet Man with Maureen O'Hara and John Wayne? Sigh, so romantic.

... so very stylish, I love your look.....it is so chic..... the lovely blouse and skirt..... the perfect belt, . and the lovely tights that match your gorgeous hair and super shoes. What a smile too!

… you certainly make a beautiful statement….. and you are so very pretty.....
Every outfit you put on is so perfect....
Thanks for the tour as well...... I wish that I could find tights in as many wonderful colors as you've found...... wow

I grew up in tights, being in ballet for 13 years. In fact, mom raised me rather androgynously, so I also wore tights under big sweaters and hip length tunics and such around the house growing up. Your lovely look reminds me of all those days….epsecially when the delivery man would come and I’d meet him at the door and he’s refer to me as Miss……
Oh, by the way, I’m a guy…and I love fashion as much as I love dance.
I traveled in Europe this past fall,
It looks like you have the same affinity for tights as I have…..

I’ve been raving to my new friends about how much I love the tights/shorts look, so they encouraged me to try it myself…
and I have in a big way,….. denim cutoffs, high waisted shorts, even a romper…….
I will following your blog religiously….. thanks for sharing your lovely taste and your beauty
