Forever 21 Pre-Fall Part II

outfit details: F21 giraffe earrings, long cardigan, plaid dress, and mustard cross-body
Here's another pre-fall outfit I put together with Forever 21. Ideally I'd wear this with patterned tights and my favorite boots but it's warm and I'm living out of a suitcase so my usual white sandals and bare legs will have to suffice. I'm feeling a little Clueless-version-schoogirl inspired in this outfit which is probably because thinking of fall still makes me think of school. One of my worst reoccurring dreams is that I'm in class and I have to give a presentation or take a test and I'm not prepared at all. Ironically I was a good student and I can't ever recall being unprepared for a test. I wonder how long you have to be graduated before it stops haunting you--or am I alone? Does anyone else share this nightmare?

  1. Ha I've been out of college for like 3 years now and I still have dreams all the time that I'm about to graduate but I realize there was a math class I'm registered for but never attended, or never ever did work for.....

  2. Ha! I am 44 and still have nightmares about not knowing where my classes are at highschool! Once you have a recurring anxiety dream, I think it stays with you, unfortunately. Love your hair at the mo, by the way. And congrats on your engagement. Your boy looks cute :)

  9. I love the schoolgirl/librarian look! I would wear that dress and cardigan everyday. Mustard cardigans are a staple (at least in my eyes). I will definitely have to check Forever 21's fall things out soon! And those nightmares... I think they can be applied to college life as well. haha

  10. Love the pattern! You can never go wrong with plaid.

Unfortunately, school is very present in my thoughts, due to the fact I went back! I decided to change careers and become an RN. Let me just say that nursing school is THE hardest yet gratifying thing I have ever done with my life. I am counting down the days until I graduate, but I am positive it will continue to haunt me for years after!

  11. I *love* that orange cardi; it's so cute with the plaid!

Ha, I finished my Ph.D. last year ... for three months, I sat around in the evenings, feeling miserable and stressed and bored all at once. I wanted to work on projects, but I couldn't seem to start. Then, THREE MONTHS later, it hit me - I was basically sitting around, cringing, and waiting for someone to give me insane amounts of homework to do every night.

I still, occasionally, have a dream that I have to do my defense over again. Those are awful (and yes, in real life, my defense was great!).

  12. Yes, I have a similar nightmare! The professor comes around to collect a paper and I don't have mine - it's horrible.

I love this dress!! I am such a sucker for a cute collar. I think I'll be making a trip to Forever 21 today ;). And Clueless is one of the best movies ever! :)

  15. I totally still have these dreams! Mine always deal with taking math tests, although I have not taken a math class in 4 years.

  16. Rebecca, up until recently (28 right now), I used to have a recurring dream that I was in school wearing shorts and I look down and realize that I forgot to shave my legs--not quite academic but sorta.
