Sally Port

Remember this old moat wall? Before I was engaged to an Irish man and staying in ancient towers, I briefly lived inside a moat. There were no dragons involved, but depending on how I tell the story I can make my life sound like a fairytale. Trust me, most days it is not! However, I did briefly live inside a moat and recently went back to the old haunts and took these pictures inside the moat wall. The other entrances to the moat are large and paved for cars to go through, this is the sole walking path into the old fort. I think it's quite pretty and I hope they maintain it in years to come.

This dress is really neat. I love the colour on you and the sleeves and bust are so pretty. I don't have anything remotely like it, so I think it's time to add it to my wardrobe. Thanks for the inspiration! You truly are magnificent. :-)

Oh my, that dress is absolutely beautiful! Perfectly suited for the "fairytale" of living in a moat! (You didn't live in the actual watery ditch did you?! Please explain, it sounds very interesting!) Also your hair goes wonderfully with your dress. This would make a fabulous bridesmaids dress for your wedding, although I imagine you've already picked something else. Can't wait for you to share more wedding photos!

I saw that wall and got all excited! I started reading your blog when you were taking lots of photos there, so it is a bit nostalgic.

@Lala haha I guess the language is misleading--no the moat goes around a little military installation, so when I say I lived inside I mean my house was inside the fortification of the moat wall. Like a loop around some houses, apartments, etc.

@Anonymous, ok I'll see if I can do a tutorial in the next couple of weeks. I just use a curling iron.

I've been reading your blog for years and I think these are the best pictures you've ever taken. So dreamy and romantic. Maybe it's the pink hair.
