As I mentioned before, we had a little snow on one of Thomas's last days in town and decided to take advantage of the wintry scene for a slightly more surreal photoset that I didn't get around to editing until now. Despite my sensible boots and cozy coat I didn't last long in the cold so these would probably have been more impressive if I had allowed Thomas more than ten minutes to take them! My cold stamina has been quite low this year since we haven't had enough snow for me to become accustomed to it. At this point I'm easy pickings for the White Witch.

"It is easy to acknowledge, but almost impossible to realize for long, that we are mirrors whose brightness, if we are bright, is wholly derived from the sun that shines upon us."
C.S. Lewis

Ah, I just adore your photography! These pictures are beautiful! I've seen the mirror prop before, but only ever with green scenery, I really do love how it looks with the snow.
ReplyDeleteWhat was the name of the artist that you posted who did this with landscapes, again?
ReplyDelete@Celeste, there are many photographers who play with mirrors. I've posted on at least 2: Sarah Bodri & Cody William Smith. But those are just the 2 I remember, there might be more I've posted on and yeah mirrors are a common thing to play with for photographers so it might not be either of those that you are thinking of.
