This winter has sadly been marked with more rainy days than snow days. However, my new bright red umbrella is helping somewhat brighten up the day--I already have an excellent umbrella from Modcloth that has lasted me for years, but I couldn't resist the little bird handle on this one. It reminds me of an umbrella my sister had when we were children and I always coveted it. Twenty years later I have a cool umbrella too, sis! When the weather warms up I'll try an Umbrellas of Cherbourg inspired outfit with my new umbrella, but right now the dreary weather has me in darker clothes.

Welcome to my little blog that blends a bit of nature, fashion, wanderings, and books in this dusty corner of the Internet. I hope you find it a moment of quiet in the wild today.

Prettiest dress, ever Rebecca.
ReplyDeleteYou always bring magic to my days.
I cannot remember when it rain last in Málaga.
Mil besos, preciosa.

A rainy day definitely has to be a little bit brighter with that sweet umbrella of yours! I love the heart details on the tights too.

You're looking gorgeous & what a great location! The umbrella makes you a more colorful & modern Mary Poppins (sans suitcase) ;)

I love this outfit! The cape is so pretty. I had a pink duck umbrella when I was little. When my boys asked for umbrellas for Christmas a couple years ago, I got them blue and yellow ones in the same style. It's such a classic little umbrella!
ReplyDeletethat such a cute umbrella! its like a modern Mary Poppins

I love the little bird handle!! Too too cute. Feeld very Mary Poppins to me.
ReplyDeleteI am looking to invest in a good umbrella. Manhattan rainy days have caused about 5 or 6 cheap umbrella casualties. Time for an upgrade!

I love all the thought and attention to detail that you put into your outfits. The dress is stunning (love that embroidery), but all the pops of red, the goose handle on your umbrella, the hearts down the back of your tights take this from pretty to really striking. Great photos, this could be an editorial for a magazine.

Out of curiosity, is this in Wisconsin? I grew up near a Bark Lake, which has a railroad running by it. :)
ReplyDelete@Anonymous, nope I'm in VA right now. It's just a kid's railroad station, a toy train runs through here in the summer. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your brightly coloured umbrella, it's so eye catching! Your dress is pretty and your tights are such fun! You look great!

Outfit stole my heart :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, love, love the unexpected details of your tights!
So, I took a leap of faith and ordered from Sheinside because you and The Kittenhood (another style blogger) seem to have such good luck shopping from there.
ReplyDeleteNope! I ordered what I thought was the cutest swan skirt only to be sent a towel material polka dot skirt (it literally feels like a cheap costume).
Have you had things like that happen? Frustrating. Luckily it was only $20 so I'm hesitant to even bother arguing with them and sending them photos of it (what kind of return policy is that!)
Anyways, just wondering if that has ever happened to you. Love the cape!
@Miranda, that's awful! And no, I've only had positive experiences. Items look like how they're pictured altho quality isn't always amazing. I have better luck with their coats & sweaters than their dresses when it comes to quality.
ReplyDeleteBut I do know they have a lot of mixed reviews online. I guess when I'll have to quit it when I get burned by a bad package. :/
Another awesome outfit. The heart tights and the umbrella are amazing.
ReplyDeleteOh, I have an umbrella just like yours! A little faded from use, but the same bird on the handle- I like to think it's a duck.
