Outfit: Winter Minimalism

One of the best features of our gatehouse (see Monday's post) is its location. The gatehouse is perched at the front of a public park which means it's just a hop and a skip down the road to pretty wooded paths, a few small fields, and even a lake. Even though we're not living at the gatehouse yet we're over nearly every day doing a little of painting or measuring and cleaning. So these pictures were taken on a break from home prep work although I was wearing far less cute paint splattered jeans and an old sweater while working! It's nice to leave the dirty clothes behind when you're finished for the day.
I'm really into minimalist style of winter dressing right now--from yesterday's coordinated outfit to today's look of matching your dress to your coat. I'd typically put together an outfit and then figure out what coat "goes" with everything else, but lately I've been looking at coats first and matching to that. It's sort of nice and stream-lined even if you add a few other colors into your outfit with accessories.
