Outfit: Finding New Ways To Fail

I saw the shape of this dress and thought, "oh that's something different--I should try switching up my style a bit." The floaty skirt seemed perfect for summer and the triangular top wasn't like anything else in my closet. But after wearing it for a day and having my friends say it reminded them of a nightgown and "saggy boobs" (associations I cannot get out of my head when I see the dress now) I think this dress is getting retired...back to my routine nipped waists and full skirts please! But it is better to try and fail than to stick to a rut...stylistically or otherwise!

I agree the silhouette may not be the best for you but it's good to see "outfit fails" on blogs, too!

Whaaat! Man, I love that dress! I can't get enough floaty, night gown type dresses lately. I'm most captivated by those earrings, though! SO CUTE.

I also think it's lovely and fun on you. It's good to break things up in terms of style and routine. I don't know if I think there's such a thing as fashion fail...because the creativity and willingness to try new things is what makes it so much fun.

Unless we try new things, we won't know if they work for us.

I'm pretty sure you'd still look good even if you were wearing a paper bag... ^_^

For what it's worth, I actually think you look really cute in this outfit and love the floaty feel of the dress on its own, too. But to each her own. :)

I think you look great and different... in a good way! Personally, I love floated dresses and wear such shapes quite often, although my body type is similar to yours! But still, good for you for trying new styles! I believe it helps our personal style evolve!

it's really not so bad (though the 'saggy boobs' remark gave me a chuckle, haha). have you tried it with a denim jacket? or perhaps belted at the waist? either could look cute!

The silhouette is fine! It's the shape of the darker fabric part that's wrong, and wouldn't look great on anybody imo. If this dress were all one fabric, it would be great on you. In any case, you look lovely as you always do, and those earrings! amazing!

I was personally drawn to this look, as to me, the shapes were graphic and interesting, although, I understand that it may not be for everyone. Keep experimenting and having fun with fashion Rebecca, what matters is you're happy! : )

Kudos for trying something new! I think it's okay, but I can see why you'd want to retire this one.
