Expat Announcement

I've already stated this on Instagram and Facebook, but it seemed remiss to go without sharing the news here as well: I have my UK visa. I've been sick with stress for a few months wondering if our visa application would get approved or rejected and the relief and joy I felt when it finally arrived is nearly indescribable. Within hours of its arrival I had booked my one-way ticket to Northern Ireland--I can't wait to get back to Thomas and our tiny gatehouse. While I'll still feel like a tourist all of my future posts from Northern Ireland won't be written by a visitor but rather an expat. Now the focus is shifting from will we/won't we get the visa to moving details and the final stages of wedding planning! And yes, in the future, with Thomas's help and guidance, I promise to start sharing some much-requested Ireland/Northern Ireland travel guides. Feel free to let me know what you look for in a guide or any questions about visiting Northern Ireland I (or Thomas as a true local) could answer.

  9. Congratulations, Rebecca!
I'm sure that was a big relief to get it out of the way before the wedding. :)

I can clearly recall the day I received mine but now me and my man are going to celebrate our 12th wedding anni this Friday. Where did all the time go? haha

Anyway, I wish you all the best for the wedding and all! :)

    Love,
    Sienna xx

  14. Congratulations! Overseas logistics can be the pits, so I'm glad your visa worked out just fine. Words cannot describe my excitement for your future outfit/exploration photos in Northern Ireland--it holds a special place in my heart (traveled solo there after graduating college and fell in love). Anything you can share about traveling in western Ireland would be fantastic, I had to bail on my Galway plans due to time and would love to go back there someday!
