From the beginning everything on "The Clothes Horse" has been a labor of love by me. I began snapping pictures with my basic camera hanging from a tree branch and typing up posts at 1am after I closed a night shift at my convenience store job. My photography has improved (upgrading to a tripod helped a lot!), my writing schedule is more sane, and even my personal style has developed through the intervening years. What hasn't changed much is my site-building skills. But I sort of like being this one-woman team; I sometimes decline Thomas's help with photographs because I'd prefer to take my own and I've let a blog layout I was tired of linger because I didn't want to ask for someone else's help. But change is good and while this blog is still a one-woman team most days I did get help from Kaelah to make the new layout/look. She gave me something updated and clean; a site where the photographs can be the focus. I definitely recommend her if you're looking for a website update for yourself. It's good to be independent, but it's also good to know when to ask for help!
So the blog is bright, shiny and new-looking and I'm re-branding slightly from The Clothes Horse to A Clothes Horse with a custom url (finally!) to match. When I started blogging no one was using the name "clothes horse" but a few months after my blog started to grow, while I was still a student, every domain containing my pseudonym was bought. I really love my blog name and still identify with it so I've been reluctant to change it, but I finally found the perfect solution in a minor name adjustment. I hope you like the new "A Clothes Horse" and continue to stick around for more style posts and 1am ramblings.
