There's a lot of reasons for this; as a natural fiber it's very comfortable to wear, it's also a more sustainable fabric than most because of how environmentally friendly it is to grow and process flax, etc etc--I could go on. My wardrobe is full of linen dresses, but if there is one area that I have been lacking in linen: it's houseware. As much as I love linen I haven't invested in linen sheets yet or bought other pieces for my home, however I can happily say I thanks to Magic Linen I now have two perfect linen tablecloths! It's rare to stumble across such a lovely linen shop that not only stocks dresses, but also so many different styles of linen home goods from classic tablecloths to functional zero waste produce bags to stylish oven mitts. Their pieces feel so practical while also looking incredibly stylish. I definitely look forward to properly dressing my table in linen one of these days (I want place mats, napkins--everything!), but since the weather is starting to warm up I couldn't resist taking these tablecloths outside for a spring picnic.

I have a few linen aprons but those are so vintage inspired they tend to feel too fancy for everyday wear and use; this apron however is so perfect because it feels so functional. The large pocket is perfect for foraging a bit while on a walk and the shape is perfect for going on top of any outfit so I know I'm going to be using this apron loads around my kitchen and on ventures further afield. As much as my wardrobe can look very whimsical to an outsider, I have been feeling drawn to more utilitarian pieces lately--clothes you can get a bit muddy in. PS Magic Linen has a spring sale on right now with a large selection of pieces for 30% off! spring hobbit, hobbithearted, cottagecore, cottagecore dress, cottagefairy, fairycore, magic linen, folk fashion, picnic, spring picnic, linen picnic spring hobbit, hobbithearted, cottagecore, cottagecore dress, cottagefairy, fairycore, magic linen, folk fashion, picnic, spring picnic, linen picnicIt's been awhile since the weather was nice enough for a picnic so I wanted to make this one special and I baked tiny cakes for the occasion and decorated them with edible flowers. The edible flowers I used were forget-me-nots, lilacs, daisies, and even a few cherry blossom petals. Lilacs and cherry blossom petals taste very similar to the smell--very floral. Forget-me-nots can taste a bit nutty and daisies are a bit lemon-y, but honestly the flowers are more for decoration than taste! They're safe to eat but the overwhelming flavor from these cakes was buttercream frosting. We also had a lovely loaf of bread from a local bakery with brie and jam, local apple cider, and a spinach and strawberry salad with homemade dressing. spring hobbit, hobbithearted, cottagecore, cottagecore dress, cottagefairy, fairycore, magiclinen, folk fashion, picnic, spring picnic, linen picnic spring hobbit, hobbithearted, cottagecore, cottagecore dress, cottagefairy, fairycore, magiclinen, folk fashion, picnic, spring picnic, linen picnic
