The cool clime of Washington is too much for me...so I'm flying to Hawaii! Okay, so I'm not expecting anything under the Christmas tree this year, but I hardly care because my gift is my family meeting up on Oahu. My father will be back from down-range for his R&R and we're all heading to Honolulu. I graduated from high school in Hawaii, so I'm really looking forward to visiting my favorite old haunts.
Today is the day of my flight and I couldn't be more excited. Sunny skies, warm sands, and family; here I come!
Before I jet away to paradise, here is my last outfit shot in dreary, cold Washington...I've been wanting to do a shoot with twinkle lights forever. And let me just say, it was far harder to wrap myself in twinkle lights and run back and forth for the self-timer than I had anticipated...Gus (the dog) complicated things by barking at me. Concepts like these always work out far better in my head.

ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous that you're going to Hawaii for Christmas! I went to Honolulu for my honeymoon this year-- such a wonderful, scenic area, and we wished we could've stayed longer than a week. We had major fun going to the Polynesian Cultural Center and parasailing. Did you grow up on Oahu?

Rebecca, these are seriously the prettiest pictures I've ever seen! Your dress is so beautiful, I've been wanting a dress like that for so long. The lights came out perfectly! I also was inspired by your perfect photos to buy a little tripod for my dumb canon powershot camera (to tide me over until I get a better camera and tripod.) I'm looking forward to having COMPLETE control over my photos (sorry if that sounds demonic.)

ReplyDeleteOh, I adore twinkle lights. They just feel so magical. I love them set against that rich red color and the jewel-like details. Beautiful! Have fun in Hawaii! It's even cold in SoCal now, so I'd love to head somewhere warm and sunny right now and ditch the rain!

I definitely missed it when I moved to PA for college. Nevertheless, I am duly re-inspired by your enthusiasm for the aloha state. Thanks!
