I enjoy trying out styles of clothes or accessories that are outside of my norm. The last thing I want is to get into a style rut and even pieces dissimilar to my usual ones can be worn in a way I find comfortable. So, when I saw this very 80s denim vest I knew I had to play around with it. Pairing it with very familiar items like a vintage dress, dark palette, and lace-up heels kept the look from being a total departure.
The weather is also feeling very familiar to me; I took these pictures in the rain. We might just have a fall after all here in Virginia...

I used to live in Virginia not too long ago before moving to Maryland! Fall is really pretty there, though. This weather is just ruining VA's beautiful foliage. Nice twist to the 80's jacket! I really like the eighties, and not a lot of people wear eighties clothing thinking it's the worst decade in fashion history.
ReplyDeleteyou are just PERFECT!!!!!
ReplyDeletelove the outfit...modern and classic together...could it be better?
Not that I'm biased or anything, but Virginia does have THE best fall ever.
ReplyDeletethe days looks so pretty, i never been there i would like to know there sometime, love how looks your hair with these outfit!

I want every single pair of your shoes. They are all amazing. And how tall are you? Because I can't tell with those high heels and I did look on the F.A.Q but it didn't say. :)

ReplyDeleteim in love with the color of this bag! looks so rich and warm. Great layering! xo, Kim www.eatsleepwear.com
ReplyDeleteLovely lovely lovely. I didn't think I would like a vest, especially a "very 80's" vest, but you pulled it off!
ReplyDeleteThe colors in VA are supposed to peak at the end of October/beginning of November, precisely when I'm visiting "back home". :)
Gorgeous outfit. I still can't get over your shoes, and I love the last photo x
ReplyDeleteI have a vest just like that! Thank you for the styling inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this outfit of yours..It's so close of what I aim for:X...Every time I see a girl showing off her femininity I truly admire her..Wearing skirts and dresses and actually looking good in them too it's not as simple as people think in this century of comfortable jeans and loose T-shits..That's why I like your blog so much because you always pulled it off very good:X hope ypu have a wonderful day!

ReplyDeletei try to break out of my own sartorial box every so often and, when i do, i find myself feeling uncomfortable. you seem to pull everything off with great ease, though!
I love how you're wearing that denim vest without going into grungy, Kurt-Cobain-is-my-homeboy territory. Just proves that you make the clothes and not the other way around and that's why I always enjoy coming back to your blog :)
ReplyDeleteLove the vest!
