Last September I dropped by the Family Affairs studio while I was in New York and Nina (the designer) let me see her fall collection and preview some of her Spring/Summer 2011 pieces. Now her collection is on the site and I couldn't be happier to get my hands on the perfect chambray dress I tried on in her studio more than six months ago. This outfit is the epitome of how I would like to dress all spring and summer. Why aren't I attending any festivals? I hear that flower crowns are quite acceptable at them...
Outfit details:
You look adorable from head to toe... and the video is so cute! :D

I love the flower crown! They are always acceptable, I just wish I was brave enough to wear them! Did you make it yourself? Gorgeous shoes too!
ReplyDeleteYour hair is just amazing! Please tell me what color it is!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a closet crown lover--one natural flower is the bravest I've ever been. The dress is really cute-I love the hint of sleeves. The heels are wicked in a good way.
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming video clip! You look like an adorable fairy with the floral crown and that super gorgeous chambray dress. My eye couldn't help being drawn to those Seychelles heels, too.

awesome outfit! come to the bay and i'll take you to some music festivals! cute video btw, i'm about to check out their website.
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks beautifully, and the shoes are soooo pretty (:
ReplyDeletecute dress! and those shoes! arent they great? hannah got a pair from them to use for her shop photos and i got to wear them around. super comfy for how tall they are!
ReplyDeleteRebecca, you look stunning in these photos. That chambray blue makes your hair look dramatic and so pretty! This is a perfect spring look.
ReplyDeleteI have a question about the dress. I've been eyeing it up no end on the website, but I'm wondering how "chambray" it is. Is it really denim-y, or more of a light blue cotton. I know that's a bit of a fine distinction, but I find chambray often has this slight shine which I'm not too fond of, but the dress looks more regular cotton to me....
ReplyDelete@Vica...red? I mean, I haven't dyed my hair in months and when I did was a demi (which fades out), so this pretty much my natural color.
ReplyDelete@Emily, it's a cotton; also listed on Modcloth too http://www.modcloth.com/Womens/Dresses/-Crystalline-Sky-Dress
ReplyDeletepretty! and wow, those shoes are something else.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow. This look is so dreamy and pretty...I saw that dress on ModCloth and have been wanting it ever since. When I was looking at pics of it on ModCloth it looked like it might fit kinda funny...does it? How do you like it?

@Maria E., I love it, but I love all my Family Affairs pieces, so I'm biased. :) it is loose in the waist and low-cut, but those are intentional design features; it's to make a more doll-like silhouette. I don't think it's a "funny" fit and personally find it really comfy. :)
ReplyDeleteyou look really gorgeous! and your hair is really really lovely that way. love your blog!
ReplyDeleteOhhh I had eyeballed that dress on Modcloth...so glad to see it on you, it looks super adorable. Loving the floral crowns!
ReplyDeleteI love your dress so much! The blue looks good on you :)
ReplyDeleteBest summer dress I've seen yet this year. It looks really flattering.
ReplyDeleteThis whole outfit is so gorgeous. We all need a dress like that in our lives.

Wow, as much as I love the dress, I can't stomach the price. :( it's a little too much for a spring/summer dress..
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous, gorgeous dress! It has so much movement to it. The color is stunning with your hair :)
ReplyDeletegorgeous outfit!! I really love how it has buttons down the front and looks so soft and romantic in the wind!!
ReplyDeleteStunning. I love the dress, especially the fourth picture where the wind has caught the skirt. It goes beautifully with the shoes, too. You look gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteomg. gorgeous! i love the dress and your flower crown!
ReplyDeleteThis dress is such a beautiful colour, perfect for spring.
ReplyDeleteYou look like a spring fairy. I wish the weather at my house was warm enough to dress like you. :)
ReplyDeleteThis look is so perfect for Spring! You look so darling. I love the light blue color and structure of the dress. Those shoes are absolutely adorable! I pondered whether or not I should get them. I decided against it. Now I'm a little regretful, seeing as they look fabulous on! And I of course love your floral headband.

the dress is lovely and those curls are perfect! you look too awesome for modern day festivals: you should invest in a time machine, teleport back to the 60's, and you'll feel right at home!
ReplyDeleteI saw this dress on modcloth and it immediately went on my wishlist, it is so lovely! It looks beautiful on you
