Evening storms have made it moderately cooler here, so I managed to wear three-quarter length sleeves and closed toe shoes. This feels like an achivement and landmark. Fall might be coming our way afterall...in a sluggish, feet-dragging fashion.

I love this outfit, but I cannot sympathise with your weather predicament as here in the UK I have been wearing tights all summer :p
ReplyDeleteI think I shall move to Virginia, because the weather seems so perfect there. It's bloody hot out here in California, but I know that this heat wave will break. I must admit, I love that the title to this post is an allusion to The Great Gatsby, it makes me heart happy :)

So cute - it is the perfect end of summer/early fall look :).
ReplyDeleteI know you take your own pictures. Do you use a remote or a timer?
ReplyDeleteVery casually chic, cute!

loving the stripes and floral combo - match made in heaven x
ReplyDelete@Camille, ha! don't move. we've had a heat advisory for weeks that just lifted, it's been 100+ here for ages so now 90s& 80s feel amazing. I'd much rather have had California's weather this summer.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous, self-timer.
ReplyDeleteIt's been raining like crazy the past three days. I'm looking forward to cooler weather. I love your shoes.
ReplyDeleteThe muted hues make the patterns amazingly harmonious in this outfit... Especially with your smile. :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the second picture.
ReplyDeleteDon't hurry Autumn, please. We're not all in scorching climates!
ReplyDelete(Nice shorts, also)

@K, haha true!
ReplyDeleteYou manage to make a pair shorts so grown up and sophisticated, love it.
ReplyDeleteLove those shoes, can't believe they're JC's (far too normal looking).

@DNA, haha! JC does loads of good, normal-looking shoes, most bloggers just like their super-exaggerated styles! :)
ReplyDeleteI love those shoes
ReplyDeleteHi, I've been a reader of your blog for a long time now, and it's obvious that you have moved on from flats to heels. How do you get used to them! Any tips? :)
ReplyDelete@sarah, honestly, I don't have to walk as much! When I first started blogging I was in college and walked a ton every day & on a hilly campus--now my lifestyle doesn't require criss-crossing a huge campus 6-7 times a day; so that helps. In addition, I try to find heels with a platform b/c then my feet don't seem to hit the ground as much. I also never go beyond a 3 inches; like if the heel is 4, there has to be 1 inch platform--any higher and I can't handle it!
ReplyDeleteThe biggest thing is just to wear them until they feel comfortable. I wear a lot of my shoes around the house before I wear them out; I'll just leave them on as I cook or clean, etc. It helps break them in. I also try to have a pair of flats on hand if I'm going out all day & night; my feet do get tired after being on them for hours & my friends & family like to walk everywhere. :)
Such a pretty outfit)) Love stripes and florals together - you've mixed them perfectly. Also - major love goes to your shoes.
ReplyDeleteI really like the second picture - you look so unbelievably cute <3
