I've decided that cropped pants are the silliest things ever. They're basically pants that say "I want warm legs, but pffft my ankles can handle a stiff breeze." My ankles did not appreciate the fall-like weather we had this day and socks looked totally silly with my outfit, so I suffered (a bit) for fashion with chilly ankles because I thought these pants were cute. Certainly not a big deal, but it's just rather annoying that what could be a very comfortable outfit was compromised by a silly design feature. The cooler weather is exciting in the single aspect of meaning more interesting outfits can be built from layers (I've already ordered several new pairs of tights and socks even though my sock drawer is overflowing!).
P.S. This is what my hair looks like when I rag curl it, then try to comb some of the craziness out...

I like the cropped pants trend, if only for the fact that stores currently stock pants in my inseam. Ha, everyone's ankle pants are the perfect long pants for me!

You look fabulous - I think your hair looks just wonderful.
ReplyDeleteAnd I only wear cropped pants during transition seasons like spring to summer and summer to fall because then at least my ankles don't get *too* cold.
Have a great weekend!
That sweater is funny XD I really love your shoes a lot! Great pictures, nice post!
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit!! I want your pony top!
ReplyDeleteYour hair is absolutely MARVELOUS! Your whole outfit is brilliant! :) :)

I never realized that about cropped pants...you bring up a good point.
ReplyDeleteRegardless of the ankle chill though, your outfit is just too good. I love that sweater. Oh man, I feel like maybe a hat would have looked cute too...a felt cloche or bowler (perhaps I have my hats mixed up).
Seriously though, you have quite the knack for pairing separates.

I wanted to comment on your latest post but since comments were disabled I'll do so here. Just wanted to say I thought it was a very fitting poem and photo set for the fall equinox. Quite touching.
ReplyDeleteAlso love your blog. Found it through Modcloth. Your hair looks great--I'm a big fan of ragwaves myself. I didn't see an icon to follow you but I'll be back. Would love it if you stopped by me too.
Those pants would look so cute with ankle boots though...
ReplyDeleteThe sweater is beautiful! And I love the post of yesterday but I can't comment. Anyhow I love the pictures and the poem.

This outfit is absolutely adorable. I love love love that horse sweater!
ReplyDeleteHaving a random read back and saw this post. Love this outfit on you - those trousers are so cute! I get cold feet constantly which means the jeans & ballet pumps combo used to ruin my day a lot (not so much now as I haven't worn jeans in about two years!). My solution? Those knee high flesh coloured stockings. They're not very sexy, but under trousers no one can tell you're wearing them, they stop shoes from rubbing and they keep your ankles warm, too. :)
