Growing out hair is such a pain. I finally got a trim and color because it was looking sort of silly, but there's just something about sitting in a salon listening to people go on and on about "low lights" and adding depth to their hair and spring trends in bangs (say what? why do people always try to make hair, which is so personal, into a trend? did the 80s show us nothing?) when you really just want your hair to be a few inches longer and not resembling a mullet, that is too much. Also, every hair dresser I've been to in the past year always discourages me from growing my hair out--they love the pixie! I don't think hair stylists get to do a proper pixie too often or something. Anyway, I think I'm back to convincing my friends to cut it over the kitchen sink when the back gets too long. Sure it ends up not being quite perfect, but at least it isn't fussy...
I'm really thinking about cutting my hair short... And then I see your post! Hehe! I'm scared to do it because my hair grows so slowly, but life is too short to not try new things. I think I will be doing it anyway. Yikes!
Growing hair really is a pain! I've had a pixie for a few months, but decided to let it grow when the winter came and the growing part is the worst! Because it's neither short nor long.
I've had a pixie cut since I was three years old and, at times, I've tried growing it out... but I soon realize that long hair doesn't flatter me. When friends talk about trend hair or other things, that's what I tell them: do what flatters you! Anyway, cute outfit! I love the sweater - it's really cute on you!
I totally get what you're going through. I chopped off my hair in high-school and it has taken me 6+ years to finally grow it out. Good thing short hair is awesome!
I can relate entirely. I'm getting my pixie trimmed today but I might try growing it out after this cut. Just not looking forward to rockin' the mullet and no-country-for-old-men looks.
I'm having the EXACT same problem right now. Just gave in & got a trim on Tuesday. It looks so much better but I'm definitely sad about losing that little bit of length. Ah well.
You look darling in any way. <3 Currently i'm in an awkward hair stage myself, and i'm fighting so hard not to chop it off again. The only thing that motivates me is looking at hair curling and braiding tutorials. Those are super effective.
You always look so cute! And I really love your pixie cut. Very few people actually look that cute in a pixie cut so I would vote to keep it short! But yeah, I've been in a weird stage where my hair really needs a cut, but I don't know what to do with it...lots of bobby pins right now!
I love your pixie cut. I think hair dressers like it because it just has so much more style than plain long hair. Everyone has long hair, but not many people are brave enough to cut it super short! I really want to cut mine like yours at some point in the near future! I'm anxious to see how your growing-it-out process goes.
I just love your look... totally different from mine (I don't think I could pull that off!) but it really is unique and chic. Interested to see what the new hairstyle will be... I'm also stuck in the "waiting for it to grow" doldrums. It will get there!
I know exactly what you mean! I got a pixie cut before going travelling and now 4 months in its gotten to the awkward mullet stage (headscarves and pins have been lifesavers). I'm in two minds whether or not to brave argentine salons for a much needed trim or wait it out till im in the states this summer...
I think you look great with both long and short hair so ignore the hairstylists and go with what you want x
You wear the pixie soooo well! One day I will try that hairstyle, if I can do a test run first and decide I like how it looks on me. I'm hesitant because I like my hair long and it's taken a very long time to get to that length.

ReplyDeletei feel ya. i'm constantly going back and forth between a pixie and long hair.
ReplyDeletePlease, go back to a short pixie cut, you are so cute with a short pixie cut, like the last year for "magnum".
