I bought this dress last year after I saw it on Niotillfem and the dress reminded me of ice cream...I guess you can call this my "fan-girling" dress. It always makes me feel a bit too young and pastry-like, but I still like to throw it on occasionally for variety.
I don't divide my wardrobe into seasons and change what I wear based on the time of year. Obviously, when the weather gets colder I wear more tights, coats, and hats, but ultimately certain dresses for fall and others for summer doesn't make sense to me. This outfit might look nice on a summer's night, but I think it is equally sweet late in fall on a balmy day. Perhaps where I have lived is as much to blame. I spent much of spring and summer in tights and jackets in Washington State and here in Virginia with the very random weather patterns I find myself in light dresses one day and winter coats the next. Relative physical comfort is my only seasonal fashion rule...

Pretty! And I love the sunset!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how we become a bit uncomfortable about how we believe we are perceived in a particular article? That dress is completely awesome! It absolutely has an aura of whimsy, but doesn't make you look any more childish or frou-frou than your youthful appearance would allow. It is an awesome dress, and I would wear the crap out of it if I were you.
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL!! Love your dress and the sunset!
ReplyDeleteI agree. Why pack away beloved items just because the weather changes? This dress is adorable
ReplyDeletethats such a cute dress! i does remind me of ice cream.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes Virginia weather is known for changing (I too have found myself changing between winter coats to light coats regularly this year). But its Virginia weather and living here for 7 years hasn't made me use to it.

ReplyDeleteFabulous! Love it :)
ReplyDeleteRelative physical comfort is key.
I get influenced by the seasons a little, like I am always trying to either blend right into the scenery or stick out like a sore thumb. One or the other. I don't do the golden middle :D

You're very lucky to get the odd lovely day so you can wear your pretty frocks out. I don't like to have a winter/summer wardrobe either and the only way I seem to be able to maintain it is by sticking with natural fibres that breath. But I do have a shocking addiction to coats and capes. xo
ReplyDeletesuch a cute dress! i love it!
