Everything's Coming Up Rosy

This floral trench became necessary in my wardrobe after I spied, admired, and 'tumbled' this outfit. Certainly this trench is not a literal interpretation of the look, but I think it captures the mood of the original outfit quite well. I just need to find some sort of metal bow belt, figure out how to style perfect tousled locks, and perfect my pout... This is also one of those items which as I pull it from the box it arrived in my mother says, "I like that." I certainly don't dress to seek my mother's approval, but it is nice when on occasion our tastes do align (usually my hosiery choices merely elicit an eye roll). How funny too that I am now embracing faded, spring tones this late in fall?

  4. ooh - so springy and cheerful. Essential now that we've hit the grey skies of winter. I love the hemline -- I think I need to take in some of my printed trenches in to get shortened. I think it makes the print more kicky and modern.

  10. Actually, it's refreshing that you do embrace springtime colours and prints in favour of going down into the depths of dark wintry fashion oblivion.

I'm tired of dark colours. Although I do love all black and it seems so stupid to wear it during the summer.

This is a nice breath of fresh air. Keep it up.

And yes, I like it, too.

  22. Where do you live? Cause i noticed you're not wearing tights, moreover you're wearing summer shoes and dresses. It's almost winter and your way of dressing makes me think of summer or early autumn. I like your style but i am curious how can you handle the cold weather (if it's cold in your area).

  23. @Izabela, It actually states my location in my profile: Virginia; southern Virginia to be accurate. It was in the lower 70s every day I had bare legs in pictures this week. I'm actually always dressed temperature appropriate b/c I'm a wimp when it comes to cold weather...so, rest assured if my legs are bare it's warm here.

  27. Screw seasonal tones. This looks perfect with your hair and skin, which makes it appropriate in any season. My mother and I have the same sorts of exchanges. "It's not what I would wear. But you look nice." But every so often, she spots something she wants to borrow.

  32. It seems like you're living in the perfect climate now (here is a nasty mixture of snow and rain currently). I love the floral trenchcoat, and I think the original inspiration coat reminds me quite a lot of your neneee dress!

  37. That outfit deserves 5 stars. And those shoes! I've been looking for a nice pair of heels like that for the summer (it's summer her in NZ)... best keep looking then... did I mention that those photos are beautiful?

  38. I love the faded spring feel of this outfit, that trench is very pretty indeed.

And my mother's reaction to my outfit choices is usually a soft eyeroll too. She is of the neutrals kind, I'm the rainbow child :))
