This spring I've really become obsessed with having my jackets and dress lengths match almost perfectly. It's a detail I've noticed before but never really bothered to intentionally do with outfits. However, since I made an effort with it I've become an addict.
As you might notice, a piece of the dock has fallen off. The same thing happened to the dock I loved visiting in Washington State. That made it rather treacherous to venture onto since parts had collapsed leaving gaping holes and the nagging question of what would make another piece fall into the frigid water. This dock seems to remain much more stable and will probably be populated with fishers in no time at all. Visiting this slightly battered dock and remembering the one from last year just makes me wonder where I will be next year this time. I really do wish the future wasn't so mysterious.

I love that brown color! And your belt! And your hair is so amazing. I would love to have red hair, but that's not good color for my face :( But at you, it looks gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt creates so much movement and allure when the dress is almost completely hidden by the coat. It leaves you wanting something more. Something more desired, which then creates even more interest.
ReplyDeleteIt's a strategy, even if it's completely unconscious.
And I love it.
I often think I live too far in the future--I'm already worrying about how to finance our theoretical child's college education, even though we agreed we wouldn't start trying for a child for another 6 years or so. But as far as what happens in a year, I can't even tell, and I don't seem to worry about that. I live far too much in the now as well--which makes me weirder than most. I think the most important thing is to be prepared, and to always enjoy or learn from whatever comes our way, be it victory or tribulation.
Having read you for four years, I'm pretty sure that whatever comes your way, you will handle it with poise, maturity and grace.

I love how you've been matching your hems lately. That coat is so pretty, that I'd want to wear it all the time too.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about docks. I take photos on docks and bridges near me sometimes. Every once in awhile, a tree will come down and tear part of the dock, and it makes me a little wary of stepping near it. Though with yours, I bet if you were feeling adventurous, you could sit in the dock opening and take some fun photos :)
The jacket is so adorable and I love your shoes! So cute :D I always like my jacket to be just a bit longer than my dress. I don't know why, it's just my preference :)

I completely know where you are coming from about wanting to know the future a little more... but then I think of Oedipus and how that knowledge completely screwed him over. :-)

ReplyDeleteI dearly wish I had the same trench in my wardrobe!
ReplyDeleteI admire your taste in colours. I'd never have bought tights this shade, and still they match and work perfectly.
I feel the same as you about the future. As usual, I have no idea where I'll be beyond September, and I remember complaining about the same thing last year at this time. I guess life continues alright for both of us though.
ReplyDeleteI like the shades of mushroom, chestnut and black here, if that doesn't sound too pretentious. ; )
great style, really eye catching
ReplyDeleteI love your floral trench.
