On decidedly hot summer days when you awake to temperatures already in the 80s and humidity through the roof, I like to wear clothes that don't really fit. (Loose layers keep you cooler than anything fitted.) I've had this skirt since my family lived in Hawaii and it's never really fit; I can slide it off without unfastening a single button. That should be impossible and seems in danger of a wardrobe malfunction, but for some reason it's one of those pieces I have an awful time letting go of. The blouse is equally loose, but that is part of it's appeal. The lightweight fabric ripples with every gentle breeze.

I'm completely with you on the loose-fitting clothes when the heat and humidity are unbearable. =)

I like your colours today :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable outfit! Stay cool! (or try at least!)
ReplyDeleteI really like your blouse. Especially how it pulls together such unexpected colors.
ReplyDeletei love how your shoes match the necklace :)
ReplyDeleteThese pictures came out really nice! I like how you paired that skirt with that top, the combination looks quirky but nice.
ReplyDeleteI love that necklace. so unique. i agree with the loose fitting clothing comment, when the wind blows there nothing better than to feel that light grace of your clothing on your skin
ReplyDeleteyou know what? you look like a mermaid on the first picture ^^ i also like walking along the ocean!
ReplyDeleteI actually have a couple of skirts that are a size too big, and they are my favorite things to wear when it's hot out. I love that top:)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you on loose fitted items! It's kind of how sometimes I'd much rather wear a long flowy maxi skirt rather than a pair of shorts on a hot day.
ReplyDeleteLoving the colors you used here in your outfit. :)

Glad I don't live in a hot & humid area. I wouldn't survive summer lol I'd never guess the skirt doesn't fit properly. Keep it with you, the color is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThat necklace is so awesome! We used to make shell necklaces when we were kids and your one is rather similar (except of course for the fact that it is orange, we never did manage to find any orange shells).
ReplyDeleteYour necklace! I so so want it! (: I also love your blouse. (: And the skirt is a nice color! Maybe that's why you're having a hard time parting with it?
ReplyDeleteSuch an adorable necklace. And I like your style of writing, even if they seem a little sad and thoughtful atm.
ReplyDeleteYour shell necklace is amazing and so cute! I love the looser-fitting top you're wearing. It seems so nice for hot weather. Your skirt is a really pretty color too.
