One of the less enjoyable times to live near the water is when storm season arrives. It's a mite early this year, but no one bothered to tell the hurricane that. Our old home has already been evacuated and we're waiting to hear if this one will be as well. These pictures though were clearly taken on a calmer day by the water. I don't think I'll ever cease to be charmed by the way light reflects off the water.
P.S. Please don't worry; the worst case scenario is really just damage to our house & belongings, and that's not really anything too upsetting. Hurricanes are predictable enough that no one should be physically hurt.

This light is incredible. Your beautiful pictures seem to take a whole other level when reading your last paragraph... I don't know, maybe I'm just getting a little wistful...
ReplyDeleteHope the storm doesn't cause any damage to your house and belongings. Fingers crossed for everyone threatened by the elements.
These are beautiful pictures. They remind me of a dream world. Good luck with the storm. Over here in NY everyone is preparing. Be safe and hope there's no damage anywhere.

My mother's had to evacuate as well (she's in Virginia Beach). Hopefully it will turn out as it always does- a few fallen branches and some flooded gutters, but nothing major! Be safe!
ReplyDeleteGood outlook on stormy weather:) It is just stuff we have to worry about. I put my car up in a garage and bought water and stuff. Ready for it to be done and over with though.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering about you. I'm from New England and not really used to hurricanes. I have no idea what to do about my ducks because they will NOT get out of the pond unless it dries up or freezes!
ReplyDeleteYou're right, there is something magical about the way light reflects off the water. Beautiful shots! Glad to hear you are safe!
ReplyDeleteThese are so beautiful, I love the mood of these photographs.
