I'm a sucker for dresses that look like they were made out of someone's old curtains; I don't know what it is, but there's something about brocade that I love. So, I couldn't resist yet another heavy brocade dress especially when this one looked so perfect for autumn. The temperatures are still fluctuating wildly and winter winds are rolling in (literally), so I chose to take pictures inside one of the trains on this day as much to escape the wind as anything else. Korkease was kind enough to send me a couple of their fall shoes and I couldn't resist these chunky oxfords. Thick heels are easier to walk in and there's something about a heavy shoe that goes nicely with thick brocade.

ReplyDeleteLove those shoes! You're right that a heavier shoe does seem to go better with brocade. Also, congrats on your marriage proposal; I hope you and anonymous will be very happy! Hee hee :)
ReplyDeleteOh, this is really the most gorgeous outfit I've ever seen on your blog (I think)! The colors match just so well with each other and your hair, really pretty.

That leather jacket has such an Amelia Earhart feel, I love it! And you need to just move that streetcar to your yard. It's the best discovery ever.

What a cool outfit! You always find the most amazing places for photos! It's discovering places like this that makes me love doing on-location photography with my clients!
ReplyDeleteI think I may have said this before, but that scarf is awesome, it looks a lot like one I'm making. Great outfit total and nice pictures too!
ReplyDeleteYou really are a vision. The traincar that you frequent is a dream, by the way. There were some old carts on post at my old home, but they were just flat-- no walls or anything.
ReplyDeleteThis dress is beautiful. Most of my dresses look like old tablecloths! :)
I love this!!
ReplyDeleteAutum everywhere. Love your culry short hair.
Can I say something? I feel like I have saw you grow up through your blog, I like that.
I love how you worked the brocade dress with the leather jacket. The knitted scarf added that nice soft touch to the whole outfit. :)
ReplyDeletealso, this is a bit of a random question, but is that a ring I see on the ring finger of your left hand?!? eep!
those two photos look straight out of a look book! amazing! and i'm just waiting for my parents to redecorate so i can nab these geometric liberty curtains they've got!!

@thedemuremuse.com, I'm wearing a ring yes, but I'm not engaged. It's just a ring my father got me when I was younger (& I tend to wear jewelry on my left b/c I write & draw with the right one).
ReplyDeleteThe inside of the abandoned train is the perfect setting to your outfit (well anything you wear really). It’s just so lovely. I especially love the peeling paint…it makes me wonder about all the people who use to ride when it was pristine. See, here I go reminiscing again. Anyways, I too adore that skirt; you don’t see too many skirts like that around, well at least not anymore. By the way, it’s always nice to see you smiling in a post dear.
