Evening Shade In The Lonely Hour

This hair takes some getting used to; I keep doing double takes when I walk past mirrors and see myself in the peripheral. It will probably take awhile before I'm used to seeing so much of my face and having so little to hide my blushes behind. They say a girl who cuts her hair is about to change her life, but I'm not sure that holds true for me--as far as I know it will be a quiet fall and reticent winter, but who knows what will come with the spring?

Outfit details:
vintage headband
H&M jacket
Target tights
secondhand shoes

  2. I like the headband and the contrast between the dress and purple tights is perfect too.

  3. Cute hair! I don't think that saying is true though, haha. I've cut my hair off many times, never coinciding with big life changes...because when huge things are happening, you don't have time to worry about your hair. :)

  4. you look great with your new hair cut! really..i don't know how to describe it..pixie like? that's a good thing! ;) i cut my hair from chest length to chin length, maybe there are a few (hopefully positive) changes for me as well?

  8. I've never heard that saying before, but I really like it (as long as the change is positive, of course). You rock it! Love your Family Affairs tunic, and that headband looks adorable with your new cut!

  10. "They say a girl who cuts her hair is about to change her life" >> IT'S TRUE! ^O^
Everytime I've done real new haircut, or changed color of my hair, it was to change something in my life, I realized that I was often cutting my hair when I was about to fall in love or start new job or studies. Maybe you will have surprises soon ^^

  12. I always cut (or re-style it) with changes in my life. But it really doesn't have to be that way. I admire girls with short hair so much! I just can't see myself with hair so short, so I'm letting it grow. Love your hairdo, seriously! :)

  20. I'm still in love with your new haircut... Is it difficult to shape? Or do you just dry it and it's perfect instantly? :)

Loving the colours, dark blue and deep red are some of my favourite combinations!

  22. I am trying to get used to your haircut too, although I am liking the short cut, I totally loved the long locks. But it's always nice to change it up every once in awhile. You look pretty regardless!

  23. It does suit you, you have the right shaped face

    ReplyDelete
  24. @Madeline Quaint, I do have to do some shaping of it. I air dry so it partly depends on if I wash it in the morning & then I can just sort of comb how I want before it dries, or if I fall asleep with it wet & have to try fix it in the morning. :)

  27. REBECCA, I LOVE YOUR HAIR!!!!!!!!

You look like an anime, but also you remind me of Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina, after she cuts off her "horse hair" (to quote the French Chef she befriends in cooking school). SO GORGEOUS.

  31. Hi!
My name is Tyler-Marie, and I have to thank you for inspiring me to make a blog! I am a major Mod cloth fan, and as I was going through their blog I found yours listed. Your clothes are super cute!!!! It's nice to know that there are other people who like vintage clothes, haha!

  32. You are as gorgeous as ever with your short cut. Seriously, makes me want to go back to short hair after growing mine out for three years. What is your hair texture...fine, thick? The shortest I've ever gone was a retro Louise Brooks type bob. I'm wondering if my fine hair could even pull a style like this off.

Loving your outfit from head to toe. The maroon/navy combo is so classic and is perfection for fall.

  33. @Marisa Noelle, my hair is thick & fairly straight (a slight wave). I'm sure you can pull of a pixie with thinner hair--I actually wish there was a bit less fluff to mine b/c I love this length, but there's still just a bit too much hair there, ha. But anyway, I'm sure you should just talk to your hair dresser & see what exact style he/she recommends.

  39. oooooh how CUTE you look with your new short hair! Yep, it takes a while to get used to, but it is lovely indeed! love your 3B look too (blue/bordeaux/brown) these are the perfect colors for you :)

  40. I love this new hair cut on you; you have the perfect face for it. I'm always slightly envious of girls who can pull off short hair simply because I never could, but rest assured it looks darling on you. Also, I'm diggin' your color pallet on this outfit.
