I really adore this dress but it definitely pushes past sweet territory and into saccharine, so I don't wear it often! The insidious nature of the mushroom print is always overwhelmed by the peter pan collar and pretty pleating. I don't actually enjoy resembling a porcelain doll, but occasionally I can't resist a too-adorable dress. I had hoped my shorter hair would make me look less cutesy, but I'd say that's pretty much a fail...

ReplyDeleteYour new haircut looks great. It adds such a carefree/world traveler vibe to your look.
ReplyDeleteI'm such a sucker for cutie pie dresses ... so naturally my heart is skipping a beat over this one:) Your hair definitely balances out the sweetness and just makes for one stunning ensemble all around.
ReplyDeleteGiiiirl, I am right there with you, I angst all the time about too-twee, esp cos I'm older than you are. Sometimes I cannot resist, and with this dress, it would have been one of those times. LOVE!

Ah, I love the colour of the tights!
ReplyDeleteMy most favourite colour... and the dress is really cute!
Lovely outfit, the dress is really cute. The same happens to me sometimes, I have some beautiful dresses, but I don't wear them a lot because I feel too much girly, cheesy, dress-up wearing them.
ReplyDeleteI think your haircut and matching tights and booties keep this from looking too twee, actually. If all else fails, you could wear it with a leather jacket! ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat location! Where were you?
ReplyDeletethat dress is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI'm so slow to realize your new hair cut! I love pixie hair cut and u look fabulous! Wish I could have a little more courage to chop off my hair. This dress is so interesting! It feels very christmasy!

God, you're even cuter now with the short hair!!! I know that's not the direction you intended for, but you remind me a cutesy disney character from the 1960s. Like Hayley Mills. Please take that for a compliment!
ReplyDeleteThat dress is fantastically cute! The mushroom print is awesome. I really love the color of your tights with it. I don't think there's anything wrong with looking cutesy!
ReplyDeleteYup, there's nothing wrong with a cute dress:D If it makes you happy then there's no problem
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty cutesy, but it works for every now and then! The dress is definitely a dominator of an outfit.
ReplyDeleteTotally cute! Every once in a while something like this is perfect. ;)

To lessen the cute factor, pair it with really tough or edgy pieces. Wear the dress with frayed and deconstructed super-skinny jeans, or fishnets and tall stove-pipe black flat boots, or spike jewelry and combat boots, or make it very cozy feeling with grey sweater tights, a gray thick cardi or fair isle sweater and some tall black boots.
ReplyDeleteThis dress is lovely! I haven't checked in in a long time and actually squealed when I saw your hair - I love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely look!
ReplyDeleteYou're so lucky, I try to find this dress since months ! It fits you perfectly
