A Rose Of Perished Summers

I only acquired this dress earlier this fall, but it's quickly become one of my favorites. It's just the perfect shape and fit for me and is also in my favorite color...so it really couldn't be better if it was made for me! Although a great summer piece, I'm going to be wearing it long into the winter with cozy layers. I don't really know anyone with a full "winter" wardrobe and "summer" wardrobe; certainly coats are occasionally packed away during summer months, but don't we all wear most of our pieces from one season to another?

Outfit details:
H&M jacket
vintage dress
Tabio tights

You're really rocking that pixie hair cut! I think you'd look super cute with the same hairstyle, but a really cropped fringe ala Michelle Williams or Casey Mulligan. It's a hairstyle I would dearly love to try, but haven't got the heart to chop off my long hair after growing out a bob.

With the exception of coats, sweater dresses and the occasional really summer dress, definitely! I love this dress on you and think it could make a wonderful wintery dress... the icy blue will be perfect if it snows!

I love that summery dress with the dark layers!

Agreed! I'll wear tank tops in the winter, but they'll just be covered by a cardigan. I like using everything in my closet as often as I can!

@Anna, haha, thank you! And you're reading my mind I've saved some pictures of Michelle Williams to take to my hair dresser next time I need a touch-up, I want to go shorter all over. :)

I think that dress was probably made for you too! I love the top of it, and it's too perfect with the oxfords.

This is probably my favorite dress on you. Most of my winter wardrobe is simply my summer frocks with tights and cardigans, much to my mother's dismay.

I'd love to wear my summer pieces in winter too! :( That looks so good on you!! But if you live in a country with "real" winters, you're more obliged to wear heavy pants with tights underneath and layers of shirts, longsleeves and sweaters, all topped with a scarf, beanie, gloves, a heavy winter jacket and sturdy boots... I wouldn't want to wear my summer clothes when it gets down to -20C°! ;) And autumn is so short around here... starts in early October and by November, it's almost over again... :( I'd love to live where you are!!! Looks like you have wonderful long summers and autumns!

@Glowfeather, good point. I've lived colder places than this and still tend to dress this way...but I always choose to not spend much time outside! & thankfully I haven't lived somewhere where it got -20C in awhile; I hate the cold! :)

Your vintage dress is such a beauty! <3 I love it that you've worn it in the colder months too! I get so fed up of waiting to wear things when it's warmer!

You're always wearing the cutest oxfords. I'm quite jealous, I've been on the hunt for the perfect pair.

Great post! I love that scarf so much. The dress color and shape are a little springy for me, but still great!

U look great! Ooo, I lived in one of those places where it gets so cold and it's always a dilemma for me - keep warm in my sports jacket or look good in pretty jackets. And when I'm back in Singapore, it's too warm for layerings. I'm so envious of your beautiful weather!

I certainly carry through my pieces regardless of the season. If you love something why pack it away? Just style it differently, right?

I think the best wardrobe items are the ones that can transition seamlessly between seasons, like this dress! It looks so beautiful, and the color is very icy/snowy. Love it paired with your brown oxfords!

I agree, only thick coats and sweaters are gone for the summer, and really thin tops are gone for the winter.
I don't have a completely new wardrobe =)
