A Small Canvas

Although I've only worn it a handful of times, I think this paint-splattered shirtdress might have been my favorite clothing purchase this year. As the year winds to an end I start to look at my closet more critically, pulling pieces to donate and deciding which buys were wise investments. This dress falls into the latter category because I'm as excited to see it now, as I was when it first arrived in the mail. The shape and style is perfectly classic, but instead of being boring and preppy, it looks like it was attacked by an overzealous artist--which is a mix I approve of.

Outfit details:
Wren dress
Tabio tights
Rebecca Minkoff backpack

Where is this place where you take photos?

I like that you put a sweater over it. It makes the print less overwhelming and more subtle. Looks great! Love the colors.

Yep, it's a brilliant dress! I find the things that make the "best of" pile for me usually have a healthy does of quirk!

It is an awesome dress, would I have it and it would definitely be one of my best purchases too.
Dressing jumpers over dresses is one of the best ways I like to dress in winter, I feel warm and my lovely dresses don't get neglected!

I think this is definitely one of your best dresses. I want one for myself so badly! And this particular look is fantastic with it.

@Emilee, it's an abandoned food car (part of a train) on the base where I live.

It really is a wonderful dress. I once saw a shirt at antrhopologie that had the same paint splalttered effect, but it was too big for me-even in the xs (a problem i'm sure you're familiar with as we're the same height and size haha). It truly was a great find!
If you'd ever like to do any swaps please let me know :]
