Let Creep The Sand

Nina of Family Affairs recently surprised me with this dress. It's the sort of piece I would never choose for myself because of the length and sheerness, but I'm so thrilled to receive it because it feels wonderful on. Not so much just the feel of nicely made clothes against the skin, but the way clothes help you embody a certain character--I feel quite elegant and ladylike in this dress...even if I'm still wandering down by the water instead of drinking tea in a sidewalk cafe or something.

Outfit details:
thrifted hat
secondhand belt

What a change!! I don't remember to have seen you in long dress? But it's really beautifull, with this cute hat!! You make me think about the girls in the TV show "Downton Abbey" ^^
Perfect silhouette!! You should wear long dresses more often ;)

It looks wonderful with the hat, : ) And I love receiving gifts for just that reason, you get to try all sorts of things you wouldn't normally gravitate to...

Very sophisticated and mysterious!
I especially like the sheerness in that you can just see your tattoos if you're paying attention. :)

I love the long silhouette! So different than normal; I've been trying to find one but I'm so darn tall.. it's hard to find the right fit!

LOVE the new banner too, by the way. It fits you well.

I feel like hats are seriously under-worn and under-appreciated these days, so I just LOVED how you styled this dress with a hat! I really like this dress a lot - it's totally something that I would wear myself.

Oh! I think this dress is really lovely on you and I thought it was a bit different to the length of your usual dresses. It really suits you. Also, I love the new header- the photo of you is really beautiful!

aww look at you miss fancypants! the dress really does look quite elegant, and of course you wear it well. even with this rather unusual length, it still feels very you! and i agree with the commenter above: you look super tall in it. (:

I love semi-sheer over shorter dresses looks... if that made sense. Lovely.

Well that is partly what style is all about!.. experimenting and stepping outside our comfort zone to see what looks great.. and sometimes what doesn't! And this looks great on you, makes you look very ladylike!
