I drove up to Richmond recently to see a friend and we decided to wander around the Hollywood Cemetery since the weather was so pleasant and I've been wanting to visit it for awhile. A couple of US presidents are buried here along with other notable figures, but I was most intrigued by the story of "the Richmond vampire." Which is an urban legend born from the collapse of a tunnel in 1925 and partially takes place in this cemetery. Urban legends are so entertaining...
Your writing is so elegant and fun to read! Love the title of this post, how clever to shoot at a cemetary! <3 You are a fashion queen and I can't wait to see more in the new year! <3 Rory www.WearAboutsBlog.com
Wow, that's awesome! I know it sounds morbid, but I kind of like cemeteries. Some of them are so pretty! There's a really great one near where I live that has a lot of old mausoleums, and it's really interesting to wander through! Also, wonderful outfit! The boots are great! -Katie
I love urban legends like that too! When I was younger, my friend and I would ride our bikes over to the cemetery in our neighborhood. We would explore the old tombstones and make up scary ghost stories. There were even a few above ground tombs that really freaked us out! All that being said...you look lovely. :)
Such a cute look! And I love Richmond, even though I've only gotten to spend 12 hours there. My husband went to college there, so hopefully we'll make another trip soon!
I love urban legends. This is probably a strange thing to add, but I've always wanted to visit a cemetery at night. I've gone in evenings with friends before, but never at night. It's not that I'm all very superstitious, but...
Your outfit is so wonderful yet simple! <3 There is a place in Christchurch called Richmond, so in my half-asleep state, I completely thought you were in NZ!
@Mallory, if the adult sizes fit you then you're set! I only resorted to crew cuts b/c I was tired of having my sweaters go all the way down to my hips! I like a sweater that ends at my waist.
Wow, I love those kind of urban legends too :) they make a place a lot more charming. I love your look here, that sweater looks so cozy! Life is a romantic poem
If you ever go back up to Richmond (you totally should/you're always welcome over for tea/coffee/whatever), you should take the Richmond ghost tour downtown. Ben and I randomly decided to take it one bored night and it was awesome! It includes the site of the tunnel collapse/etc. Really fun and awesomely spooky.
i love that you did a shoot in Hollywood Cemetary. I live in Richmond and love to bring people here when they visit. Next time, take a walking ghost tour in Church Hill and they will tell you the full story on the vampire. I'm definitely going to have to do a shoot here when it gets warmer. -london camille
