Crossing The Tracks

I just got back to Virginia from a too short weekend trip up to Pennsylvania. It's quite a drive (5 hours each way when I manage to avoid traffic), but with spring beginning to make its presence known it was a pretty one. Many cars were shedding pale pink petals on the roads and forsythia made the hills seem to glow. Always on long drives I find myself passing sprawling fields and farms and desiring nothing more than to pull over and wander through them.

Fall and spring are definitely the best time for road trips. I love the little navy socks with your oxfords. :)

Forsythia blankets everything where I'm from. It does seem to make the hills and trees glow. That vintage cardigan looks so lovely on you!

Love the collegiate feel of your outfit. I always feel that way driving long distances too- and sometimes do get out to wander if there's no fence (we're a free range state, so any private land is always fence off...). Sadly, five hours seems to be what I have to drive to get anywhere at all too...
