I'm not totally sold on the peplum trend, but I saw this blouse and thought it would look nice with the flippy black skirt I already owned--the triangle cut-out in the back was such a cool detail too. The darkness of the outfit suits the weather we've had lately--thunderstorms and nearly constant clouds. June is shaping up to be gloomier than summery May...

I'm not sure I've seen a peplum look with a skirt that also flounces out like that. Its cute.
ReplyDeletethis dress is gorgeous! you look great in this outfit.
ReplyDelete@MintJulep, probably not haha--I only own 2 knit pencil skirts and neither would match this. Since I hardly wear those I'm not interested in buying another pencil skirt, so nope.
ReplyDeletegah! you pull off that hemline so amazingly!

This is a great post! The pics are so inspiring & we love the combination of the dress with the flat sandals. Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteI actually thought this was a dress when I opened up this blog post. You're the queen of mix and match!

I too thought it was a dress, which for me means you mixed the outfit perfectly! I am usually a sunshine lover, but I have actually been yearning for some gloom lately. I think its because when I am overly spent and tired, there's more of an excuse to relax and do nothing inside if its a rainy day!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, you look lovely!

I love the shiny heel on those sandals and how it catches the fading light of the day.

ReplyDeleteWow, I'm not very much into the whole peplum trend either, but this outfit shape makes your legs look super long Rebecca :) And black suits you beautifully!
ReplyDeleteThumbs up lady!

Rebecca! I'm loving all your new locations since your move -- seems like you're having fun exploring around town. The combination of the graveyard + black lace is the perfect combination of romantic and gloomy.
ReplyDeleteI got a peplum blouse to try the shape out and wear mine in the same way. Looks awful (on me) with a pencil skirt though - I felt like a generic office girl trying to add some interest to the work wardrobe without looking too much like a free thinker. Ha.
ReplyDeleteI love love love that cut out back <3
