I saw these smoke bombs while out shopping for a friend and bought them on a whim. After that it didn't take too much convincing to get Jon to drive over for a shoot in a wooded park near my home. I was a little concerned the smoke would cause someone to call the fire department on us, but we found a secluded enough space to hide in. The exterior of the smoke balls doesn't really indicate the color of the smoke, so it was always a surprise once the sparks died out and smoke starting pouring forth to see what we were in for. It was definitely a learning experience as we ran around trying to position ourselves and the smoke in the perfect combination for photographs, but despite the rather noxious fumes it was incredibly fun. I'm eager to buy a load more smoke bombs and do it all over again.
O migod this is SO COOL! where do you come up with these ideas? I love how you don't just do the same old shoot every time...you spice it up :) AWESOME pictures!

Cool photos! I wish I could use some, but ever since all the forest fires here in Colorado, even sparklers and pop its have been banned. Boo!

ReplyDeleteI love your blog. I've been following for years. But I am absolutely not a fan of your new built-in ad that plays obnoxious advertisements and videos upon visiting your page. It looks terrible and it's tacky. :/
ReplyDeleteWow, so creative, I love the smoke pictures! :D
ReplyDeleteNow I want to go out and shoot some smoke bombs (plus pictures) as well.

ReplyDeleteDancing in smoke bombs was (and perhaps still is.. one of my favorite parts of July). Beautiful photos and outfit, (I may need to make that headband a part of my wardrobe.) Love the collaborations between you and John. Simply stunning.
