My first thought with a brocade dress like this is usually a party--something fancy and perhaps simple (gold shoes, some sort of cardigan/shawl to keep you warm, etc). However, after numerous viewings of the Carven Fall 2012 collection I decided to style this a little more school uniform/properish. You can't see the full tulip-shape of the skirt too well because my cardigan is a bit long, but I love the way the layers downplay the luxe fabric.
I love this look! The shape of that dress is perfect with the fabric. You did a great job taking a traditionally 'dressy' looking garment and making it work for everyday! Love it!
I think it looks great - such a nice contrast to the luxe fabric with the blouse and tights :)
ReplyDeleteI love those shoes. And as always you have killer locations! http://nauticalowl.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteAgree. I love styling down a party dress for everyday wear. Thanks Rebecca, you look lovely as always.
ReplyDeleteAnd we both went with french posts today - mine's Zou Bisou Bisou

ReplyDeleteWiki answers just told me your title means "My little cabbage" but in an endearing way! I think I'll use it when talking to my husband :P
