Moon Phases

Lately I just want to wear clothes for adventures--the sort of things I can go wandering around in woods and fields in without any worries. Initially, I wasn't certain this coat suited my style, but now I like the casual direction it brings to my outfits and the big pockets I can fill up. It also makes me want to re-watch Freaks and Geeks; Lindsay Weir's security blanket of a coat was quite similar. There are moments in your life when you want or need a coat like a turtle shell to wear every day and protect you from elements both physical and emotional.

You look so different from your usual self on the second and last photos, somehow! Maybe the fact that you're wearing 3/4 sleeves and fingerless gloves create this almost gothic/biker feel about you. The shorts and tall boots also add up to that impression. Or is it just me?

I agree with Bivisyani. It's cool, though! And that coat TOTALLY looks like Lindsay's from Freaks and Geeks, now that you mention it.

This is one of my favourite of your outfits! The layering is perfect and you look lovely!

I was wondering, which colour you purchased the shorts in on the UO website?
I love the colour of them and am keen to purchase a pair! :)

@takethreestepsback, it's the faded black pair, I think the color is technically called "dark grey" :)

How do you stand taking pictures in such cold weather? Where I am, the temperature is actually 0 degrees Fahrenheit right now.

@Abby, it isn't pleasant, but you do what you have to do. These were taken on a day in the 20s.

Excellent adventure gear! I want a coat like that, but my instinct is that I wouldn't be able to pull it off. Maybe I just have to be brave in that regard.

Just ordered my copy of Monsters, can't wait!

Thank you for getting back to me! The shorts on the UO website have the options of black, blue or white wash, but the photos may be deceiving as the black seems much lighter than these you're wearing.

I'll most likely purchase blue and dye them darker if the colour is too bright for me, I appreciate your help though!
