Although I haven't posted a remix in awhile, I have not forgotten this regular feature, rather I've been brainstorming ways to re-tweak it and keep it interesting. Lately I feel more inspired by remixes that feature one item shot against the same backdrop and re-worked then and there into several outfits, or more exhaustive posts like this one that dig deep into the archives that show how certain pieces become a mainstay in your closet. Old posts can make me a bit cringey as I see how far I've come as a "model" (posing for my tripod!) and how much my photography has changed. My hair of course is another way to date the photographs as it starts long, then gets short and shorter still, and then goes blonde, pink, and finally to today's mid-length and coppery color. Anyway, this post wasn't supposed to be about archives and hair, but rather that essential layering piece: the cardigan. The ones featured here are from Forever 21, a vintage shop, Modcloth, and now defunct-store Neneee, respectively. Remixes really show you what you wear again and again--I might think of a trench coat or jean jacket as more indicative of my style, but cardigans are clearly a mainstay in my wardrobe.
