This stunning home hails from Dublin and involves a lot of handiwork from the new homeowners. They stripped away many new additions to get back to the roots of the home--finding a fireplace behind plasterboard and even leaving some renovation projects alone mid-way, like the mottled wall in a hallway. The result is a home reflecting some of it's original charm with a new modern spin. I love the stacked and rusty tool boxes serving as a bar and how that contrast works with their framed prints and more modern, clean touches. It's a good illustration that a home can be a mix of themes--minimalist touches in certain rooms, rustic influences in another corner, and even an elegant entryway with a black ceiling and chandelier--somehow when done well it's all in harmony. via
