Outfit: 70s

My style tends to be very 50s influenced, but when I got this dress with it's longer length and looser shape it felt vaguely more 70s inspired to me. So out came my floppy hat and I tried to channel a more boho-inspired vibe. I love the fabric of this dress (Valentino inspired & owls, yes please!) but I'm not sold on the length for my height; I might shorten it in the spring so I can wear it more easily with flats. What do you think about the length?

details: thrifted hat, Yumi dress, old necklace (similar), vintage belt, old oxfords (similar), old purse

Ok that fox ring tho!

As a fellow short girl I am kind of into the awkward midi length. It makes me feel like twirling everywhere I go plus it hides the fact that shaving my legs is my nemesis. 😁 I vote rock it!

I really love the length on you. Great colours and beautiful styled as usual. X

Lovely dress! I agree with you that the length is a little awkward - it still looks good on you, but it would look even better a little shorter.

I actually think the length is great! It's a different kind of silhouette for you!

I love the fox ring, such a lovely print on the dress too! What's your favourite Wes Anderson movie (not limited to one movie, you can name a couple if you want hehe)?

i personally think the longer length makes the dress look a bit more romantic, but as a fellow short person, i know mid-thigh does wonders for my little legs. anyway, with the 70's being so popular lately, i really enjoyed seeing your take! i feel like you embraced a lot of the primary elements of the 70's while still letting your personal style dominate

Hello Rebecca! I'm also a fellow petite person, 5'2, and I can understand the reservation of looking shorter. I think the length looks good on you because of your styling. I wear midi length dresses quite often and just wear heels to lengthen me at work. But I live in NYC so I don't love the way it looks with flats but do it to survive my commute without throbbing feet! I think shorten it so you can wear any type of footwear and still get the look us short girls are always safe with.

I like the longer length, but then, I do tend to prefer longer dresses (I'm 5'3''-ish). On a side note, I don't think your height is very obvious in the pictures, so that doesn't affect my perception either way.
