Remix: My Favorite Dress

My favorite navy dress makes yet another appearance. I think this dress is the most worn piece in my closet (the collage below is only a few of the times I've worn it) and lately I only bring it out in the fall. But it works so perfectly styled over little blouses and it's in surprisingly good condition considering how many years I've owned it. I wear it almost exactly the same way each time I put it on, but with different blouses and accessories I don't really get tired of the look.

I love that you're using the navy of the dress as a neutral. When it's paired with different shirts and accessories, you get to wear your favorite dress without becoming tired of it!

Hi! I love this! I've been searching for a dress like this for so long and just can't seem to find anything close to it. What kind of fabric is it? Do you have any recommendations for places to find similar dresses with similar style?

@Antonia, it's a thick cotton. I got mine from ASOS and that is a good place for dresses like this. You can search in most shops for "pinafore" dress b/c that is the way I wear this one, or just look at sleeveless dresses without any special details in dark colors. Because my dress technically isn't a pinafore, but that's really how I style it. A lot of shops would have pieces like this ASOS, F21, Topshop, Modcloth, etc. It's more seeing a plain piece and being able to imagine styling it this way even if it's styled differently in the store you get it from. Hope that helps!

So pretty! The way you get reds in your photos to pop is incredible, too.

I love layered dress looks and this is perfect. I wasn't sold on getting a pinafore because of the shape, but seeing that you used a dress instead makes me think of a wondrous plethora of outfits that I can create!

oh, yay! I love this!! I have a dress that's almost exactly the same (black, a little longer, and has pockets,) and it's so neutral I've been puzzling over exactly what to do with it... Now I totally have to pull it out and wear it! love the collage!!

I was curious where you found your shirt you are wearing in your pictures. :) I've only recently come across your blog and I was in such a fashion slump before. Now I feel inspired to wear what I have in different pairings. It's so great to look at the shops you blog about, it's a nice change from the same old styles I see here in the States!

Hi, I really enjoy the remixes and this is a dress I especially like. Do you think you could add links to the older posts since the pictures are small and some of them I don't remember so well and would love to revisit. Thanks!

@Anonymous, I'm glad you like the remixes. :) If you look at my old Sunday remixes, you'll notice I did link to older posts in most of them. I do try to do that when possible, but honestly in a post where there's this many pictures and they span so many years it's sort of impossible to keep track of which posts they come from. Some where found stored on Flickr, others buried in my desktop, etc. So I will make an effort to do that, but in posts like this one even I can't easily locate those old posts to link to--I need to develop a better organization to keep track of posts and help me find the originals without going through every page of my blog.

@Rebecca, Thanks for your response. You do have a lot of images in this post. Maybe there's a way to archive posts by clothes item other than just by date or category. That might be time consuming, though. Anyways, this is a good one and it also shows the wide range of hairstyles, which is really fun.

Thanks for bringing back the remix! It's great to see all the different ways you've styled individual pieces, one of my favourite things about your blog :)
