I love how time seems to stop for a snow day. After a year that has felt as if it was rushing by too fast, it felt especially surreal and magical when we had a snow day. Our little village, far from a bustling metropolis on the busiest of days, went quieter still as a blanket of white settled over everything. Work was abandoned, layers were thrown on in a rush, and we ran outside to a glittering world that seemed for once to be standing completely still. A wee robin friend we see in all seasons seemed to follow us on our walk and before we knew it, snow had started to fall again...

I love this look! I love contrast with the black and the crisp white of the snow. Yesterday was our first snow, we have been waiting so long and the fear of not having a white Christmas is at last subsiding.Happy Christmas!
