Here are my newish eyeglasses again (technically I've had them for a couple of months now). I have gotten so used to my contacts that I forgot how inconvenient eyeglasses can be: they fog up in the cold, offer no protection from the sun, etc, etc. Still, I like wearing my glasses every now and then.
Also, I think I should hunt down more leather garments. I stumbled across this one in a local thrift shop for $5 and almost passed it up because leather isn't my typical style...I tend to feel like a poser in athletic gear and "tough girl" clothes, like leather. However, the fact it was mustard yellow softened it up enough for me. Now, I really like it and I feel rather powerful (?) in it. As if there's a certain attitude associated with a leather pencil skirt that one can acquire merely by donning the piece. Who knows? Now, I'm on the search for the perfect leather shorts. I might not feel quite ready for the look, but one only grows by trying things out.

ReplyDeleteKisses from Paris,
Pandore
you totally rock the skirt! (:
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you on what you said about wearing leather. It's why I rarely wear my leather jacket. You look so cute though! I think the mustard color on the leather skirt makes it more wearable :)
ReplyDeleteyou pull it off so well!
I have been on the fence about getting a pair of seychelles oxfords or brogues, mainly because wearing them would put me well over 6 feet- but I think that this post has convinced me I need them in my closet... they look lovely with the outfit. the skirt is fantastic
ReplyDeleteI missed you wearing that yellow skirt! I think it's a fab skirt! You used to wear it for your supermarket pictures or something wasn't it? It's such a wearable hue :)
ReplyDeleteLove your outfits color combination, it looks stunning.
ReplyDeleteI need those shoes they are so cute and look really comfy!
♥Darla

I think this outfit is awesome! That skirt is blowing my mind!
ReplyDeletei think it totally works for you. it doesnt seem uncharacteristic at all in my opinion! i really like this 'new' look you've got going on here, the glasses really change it up. fabulous, as usual my dear!
ReplyDeleteI, for one, love it! It doesn't resemble baddass on you, rather your sweetness and the colours are fantastic on you. Perfect, if you will!
ReplyDeleteThat fun color makes the leather approachable! I adore the ring, too.
ReplyDeletexx
this ring and skirt are awesome! :) love your blog a lot :)
ReplyDeleteThe skirt is perfect...
ReplyDeleteBut those glasses ! They're AWESOME !
I love the yellow leather skirt. I know, I feel the same way about leather...it always reminds me more of 80's MTV videos, but yours really works, especially with that plaid shirt.
ReplyDeleteamazing skirt!
ReplyDeletewww.whatdialike.com
that skirt is MAGIC. What a way to get ready for spring. Loving the look. Cute specs too!
ReplyDeletexo, Kim www.crowded-closet.com
I love how the color of the skirt just pops! Great look.
ReplyDeleteFantastic mustard skirt, Rebecca! It suits your beautiful hair color.
ReplyDelete♥
I quite like leather - I wear a lot of dresses and I think a leather jacket edges out the look a bit, unfortunately it's been too cold to wear my one recently! and can I just randomly add that your hair has grown SO long!! I remember at the beginning of this blog when you had it bobbed and now it's almost waist-length - looks lovely :) x
ReplyDeletebeautiful skirt and amazing shoes! I always love your style. Would you like to exchange links?
ReplyDeletexoxo
Love the leather skirt and the color! :)
ReplyDeletewe all want that skirt!
ReplyDeleteGreat skirt! I can see you wearing this often actually.. so many possibilities! The oxfords and feather fascinator add the perfect touch of vintage.
ReplyDeleteive always loved yellow and brown together!!! :D gorgeous as usual! :D
ReplyDeleteThat's so funny- I found a bright orange leather pencil skirt at a vintage store a few weeks ago and I have been meaning to get around to posting about it. Yours looks great!
ReplyDeleteI've been investing more in leather lately too. I really can't get enough of it.
I've never been a huge leather fan, but I LOVE this skit! Perhaps it's because the color is my favorite : )
ReplyDeleteI love the glasses, and that skirt is so cool! I know what you mean about leather, sometimes I don't feel like it's "me" so I stay away from it. But that color is really nice, and it looks great on you.
ReplyDeleteThe colour of that skirt is magic! I wanna put it on my toast :-)
ReplyDeleteThat ring still gets me hyper...

Love the ring and skirt!

best. skirt. ever.
ReplyDeletethat skirt is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYour glasses are cute! I agree, when I'm eating noodles my glasses always fog up, but I can't remove them because I like to see what I'm eating! Your skirt is amazing! The fact that it's a pencil skirt, leather, and mustard yellow mixes so many elements that it makes it great to wear for anyone!
ReplyDeletelove the twist on the leather skirt.... made it your own :)

Those oxford heels are probably my favorite shoes you own. LOL.
ReplyDeleteAwesome sweet, and not to mention your two fingered ring already makes you tough in my book! I hope you find a pair of leather shorts--I love that look! (Even though I'm too chicken to try it myself.)
ReplyDeleteJenny
aww i definitely love this outfit. i love how it coordinates to everything from your hair to your shoes. and that head accessory.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you didn't pass up the opportunity to change it up a little.
ReplyDeleteAnd when you look at it, it kind of fits in with your whole aesthetic, because of the colour and length.
I love the way the frames accent your style and make it more Mad-Men-y in a way without making you look nerdy or geeky. Of course, though, this is the TwentyFirst Century. Nerds are IN.
You skirt is butter. I love it.
Glasses do stink, but I prefer glases to contacts. I have transition lenses so I don't need to worry about the sun, but yes, I hate the fog factor. :(

love the skirt, my favorite color! you wear leather well, i really think you could pull any look off :D

ReplyDeletei absolutely love all the colors here--gorgeous with the background.
ReplyDeleteand the leather skirt becomes you--it's rad!
You always have the best yellow things, what a great look!
ReplyDeletebeautiful skirt, I also found a leather skirt for the same price as yours at a thrift shop only that it is grey and I love it.
ReplyDeleteThat's my favorite yellow.
great ring!
ReplyDeleteso cute in glasses, froma fellow wearer ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou really suit glasses - wear them more often! As a full-time glasses wearer, I totally understand the inconvenience but they're worth it when they look this chic!
ReplyDeleteI've been building up the courage to go for a leather skirt for a few months now. Never thought of a softer colour - good idea!
cute outfit, I love the color of that leather skirt so much
ReplyDeletelovelove, M.

i know what you mean about feeling odd wearing leather (i just got some leather pants.. don't know what the heck i was thinking), but i agree that the yellow color gives the leather skirt a softer look. and the fact that it's cut like a pencil skirt makes it unique. i really love how you styled it with the plaid and the feather fascinator! ~joelle
ReplyDeleteoh my, you look so pretty I can't even say... Amazing skirt!
ReplyDeleteI love how this skirt is a fashion stretch for you, but it still is in line with your aesthetic. The bright butter yellow is lovely!
ReplyDeletehttp://charmalade.blogspot.com
That leather skirt is fabulous. It suits you!
ReplyDeleteI love this look, i usually don't like leather but this yellow skirt is amazing! I also love the shoes, they remind me of the chloe silverado booties
ReplyDeletethat's such a great outfit! i love the color combination and your shoes! i really like your glasses too! i always wished that i wore glasses :)
ReplyDeleteI love love this outfit! The shoes, skirt, plaid top..ahh it's perfect! You look gorgeous <3
ReplyDeleteyou look great in those glases . im getitng mine soon .
ReplyDeletewow icant believe you almost passed on this skirt for 5 dollars
i love your glasses! this will sound nuts, but i've always wanted glasses. when i was a kid, i'd intentionally try to screw up my eyes (read under covers with flashlight, etc.) in order to get glasses. to no avail. i am cursed with 20/20 vision.
ReplyDeleteReally digging the yellow leather skirt. I think you've found the perfect complements to it in the plaid shirt and shoes.
ReplyDeleteCaroline of Red Glasses
love that mustard yellow skirt! i have such a hard time with colours and this is just adorable.
ReplyDeleteI think you look great with or without glasses, love these new retro frames! and the composition of these photos is amazing! risky in the road though haha. I once had a photo prof who told us under no circumstances to lie down in the road for a photo, at least you didn't do that haha
ReplyDeleteYour outfits always have fantastic contrasts of colour. So inspiring
ReplyDeleteevery once in a while you post a picture that makes me realize just how impossibly tiny you are. it blows my mind every time. also, i do love those glasses but can commiserate about how troublesome they can be. i love the way i look in my glasses but i hardly ever find they are worth it.
ReplyDeleteYou pull it off quite well = )! I love your dreamy, feminine, elegant style. I've been reading your blog for a few months and it has definitely become my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI like how often you do red lips. I only do it every now and then, but I want to try it more often. Also, your photo spots are always great, and you never look the least bit out of place in them. I'm excited to see your spring and summer looks.
i really like your glasses, they're endearing. you look adorable, as usual
ReplyDeletei really love that ring
ReplyDeleteI love the look!! The glasses are great! Everything just works together so well! :)

yep! see you in NY =)
ReplyDeletei seriously love mustard yellow -used to be mildly obsessed... and the leather makes it even better! you look great
You look like you're a very cool, tres chic librarian.
ReplyDeleteIntelligent, but super fun.
There's something about the yellow of your skirt and the warm brown of your shoes that makes your hair look extra colourful to me, too. It's awesome.
love the skirt!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is EASILY my favorite you've worn in awhile. I love all of your posts but this one is just PERFECT! Great job!
ReplyDeleteWow! That might just be the skirt to change all my opinions about leather! Sooo adorable!! And such a bargain!
ReplyDeleteGlasses can be inconvenient. I haven't worn contacts in about a year, though, since the ones I need are so expensive.
ReplyDeleteI just make sure my glasses are extra fabulous to make up for having to wear them. I have three pairs, one of which has a bunch of swarovski crystals on the temples. The sparkle helps offset the annoyance of having to wear them.
I love those Seychelles heels of yours!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh!, I love your headband is lovely!
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely in glasses. I wear glasses a lot too...but have never been very compatible with contacts. Probably about time I gave them another try!
ReplyDeleteLove the whole outfit, your shoes are spotless!
your glasses are really cute! All my frames are really nerdy for some reason... :b STILL love your ring!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous headpiece!
ReplyDeleteI think that skirt is one of my favorite things from your wardrobe. It's just the perfect color of yellow!
ReplyDeleteI'm not usually a big leather person either, but I LOVE this skirt. Of course mustard is pretty much my favorite color too. And your glasses are so cute! I've been wanting to get a pair again since I've been addicted to my contacts for years now. The biggest thing for me is that contacts enable my to wear sunglasses, which is a pretty big deal to me.
ReplyDeleteAnd oh how I love your bird ring!!
I'm loving this, per the usual! That skirt is truly stunning. I'm loving the color on you - fits you perfectly.
ReplyDeleteamaaaaaaaaaaazing skirt you look so gorgeous!!!

Those glasses suit you so well! I am really blind without my contacts and really dislike wearing glasses because they are for one inconvenient but my glass is pretty thick and I just don't like that on me.

ReplyDeleteThat skirt is absolutely perfect! I love the color. So glad you decided to get it. I think it suits you quite nicely.
