My time at Cambridge has drawn to a close (three weeks fly when you're abroad, no?) and I'm moving on to Paris. I really enjoyed Cambridge and taking things a bit slow while I was there: the people were friendly and the buildings were pretty. Here are a few more tourist-y shots from around town.
I wore this dress while I was in London and styled it exactly the same! I actually have other ways I could wear this packed in my suitcase and ready in my mind, but I felt like repeating it instead. It's such a lovely dress that it really doesn't need extra embellishment; perhaps just a little ribbon bow tie at the neck? Anyway, I've been suggested numerous good vintage shops in Paris so hopefully more discoveries like this dress will be in my possession soon!

Cambridge is beautiful in a quaint Harry Potter way, glad you enjoyed it! I hope to travel back there and meet up with a blogger when I'm in Scotland
ReplyDeleteI love the dress and the photos are lovely. Have fun on your trip.
ReplyDeleteI love Cambridge, I was there on the weekend and aside from all the tourists in 'University of Cambridge' hoodies it's beautiful. Enjoying walks along the Backs, watching the punting parties. And the street style!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! That shade of blue is fabulous with your hair, and those shoes are what come to my mind when I think "Cambridge chic".
ReplyDeleteGorgeous dress!SarahD:)
ReplyDeleteLovely photos! The dress is just darling; I like all of the ruffle details with the strips! Super chic. Yay for vintage finds!
ReplyDeleteI ADORE the picture you took of the people on the boat. It's utter perfection. Have a fabulous time in Paris!
I'm so jealous of your huge amounts of red hair! My mom has red hair and I always wanted red hair, too. Also I cut all my hair off last September so short that now it's only to my shoulders. Anyway....
ReplyDeleteI love the pics of Cambridge. So wonderfully medieval. Have fun in Paris!
Also--that bird ring is amazing!
Those shoes are so versatile, and they must be so much more comfortable than they look.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read all about your Paris vintage shopping. I have London vintage down to a science, but I won't get my first crack at Paris until next year.
love ur dress girl..and i really like the background of ur photograph..the flowers have same colour with ur hair :) matching!!

Bon voyage! When I lived in Paris a few years ago (eek! I'm getting old) there was a crazy and mammoth second hand shop at Barbes-Rocheouart. Can't remember what it was called but I'm sure someone in Paris will know it...
ReplyDeleteoooh when were you in Cambridge! (I live there by the way :D ) I would have told you were to find this cute little shop that sells vintage clothes...oh well, it looks like you had a great time anyway. I hope you enjoy paris!

I doubt I've ever commented here, but I feel as if I must do so now..! I'm pretty sure I saw this dress on etsy, but didn't think much of it... But you look so absolutely gorgeous in it! Generally speaking, you're one of the prettiest girls I've ever seen, and it definitely shows in these pictures. I check your blog every day but it's my first time commenting, so forgive me if it sounds a bit awkward..!

Hello Rebecca! I think you look lovely here and the dress is fantastic on you. HOWEVER. I feel like I have to tell you... I think that that is the wrong belt for the dress. I would have gone for a simple skinny belt instead of this one; the shape messes with the clean lines of the dress. All the same, I love your blog and your style!
ReplyDelete@Anonymous, I see what you mean, but I hesitate to categorize choices as right/wrong. I think a skinny belt could look good (even better in some eyes), but I actually tried it with a skinny belt and I prefer the larger one with it; the dress even came with a skinny belt in matching fabric. I think we just have a difference of opinion on this & unfortunately for everyone: I'm dressing as suits my personal tastes (although I do intend to wear it with the matching belt eventually). :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe you already saw this, but I just saw the blue dress pic on nymag in the street style slide show. Nice! slideshow
ReplyDeleteYou've got a nice blog! Hope you will become a follower of my blog too?
