Always Unfaithful To One's Own Country

Here are my last few pictures from Roma to share with you. The whole Europe trip was so long (6 weeks) and enjoyable it's hard to think about summing that time up into a succinct post. I enjoyed each country a bit more as I went on, making Italy my favorite and Venice my favorite city to visit. I didn't find Venice more crowded or expensive than any other place I saw and was so charmed by the canals and just the richness of the light and color there. Rome, I might have enjoyed more if I wasn't quite exhausted by the time I arrived there!

  3. you've catalogued your trip on your blog - which will be so nice to reference to later.

these pictures are so beautiful, Rome seems like such an amazing place, a modern city built around centuries of history!!

and I can't wait to visit Venice, they say it is an extremely romantic city, and I love the way you describe it. I hope to marry the boy I am with and we will go to Venice for our honeymoon. :)

I really enjoyed looking at your European vacation! thank you for sharing with us, you lucky girl! hope you're home and well rested!

  4. I think I felt the same way on my europe trip this summer. Rome was also my last stop and I felt like I really didn't give it a good enough chance considering I was soooo tired!

Those shoes are amazing, so cute and colourful and yet practical for all that walking!

  5. Thanks for sharing your trip, Rebecca! I live in England and travelled a lot around my home continent of Europe, so I not only find it interesting to see how you packed and styled your outfits, but also your views on Europe.

  7. So jealous of your recent Roman holiday. I lived in Rome last year and miss it soo much. Did you have a chance to check out any vintage stores like Frankenstein in Trastevere, Rome?

  10. All of your trip pictures amaze me. I can just tell you had an amazing time and will remember this forever. It also shows your readers how you can live out of a suitcase for 6 weeks and create very different looks from what you have. I love your blog and it continues to be an inspiration to me.

  11. I agree with Amberly, your blog is a beautiful testament and documentation of your trip, for you to look back fondly on. I love it.

    Absolutely Gorgeous.

Nate and I imagined taking a honeymoon and elopement in Venice once... but that was before we decided that eloping would be too hard on our friends.

I still ache to go visit one day, though.

As you know, I'll be in Iceland for 8 days and London for 5 in just a few hours! I'm quivering.

    XX.

  13. Venice is amazing. I think my favorite part was everything that was kind of decrepit. I especially liked seeing the bottom stories of buildings on the canal boarded up and half underwater, although it made me sad because it reminds you that Venice is sinking. Did you find it to be a really smelly city? Everyone told me I would hate it because the canals stunk but I never once noticed that.

p.s. I just posted an outfit (from ages ago, when it was actually summer) with a scarf tied in a bow, inspired by your bow headscarf tutorial video you posted a long time ago. Thanks!

  15. I completely agree about Venice, it was my favorite city in Italy as well. I'm a big lover of boats and if I hadn't been won over by all the canals already St. Mark's Square definitely would have done the trick! :)

  19. I fall more and more in love with Italy every time I visit. Venice was the first Italian city I ever visited - I think I was 14 or 15 at the time - and it remains my favorite, to this day :)
