Someone recently asked one of my sisters what I look like when I'm not "dressed up." Dressed up being their term for what I wear most days and feature on my blog. Well, while I have jeans, I don't have sweatpants and even on days when I just laze about the house I'm in a dress. This outfit is definitely my downtime uniform: comfy oversize cardigan (I have several), a mini dress, tights, and flats. It's the perfect outfit for being cozy and doing nothing special at all. I even did my hair all casual; note the pony tail. My new cardigan from Modcloth is a lot softer than my usual choice and is inspiring me to lay on the couch and watch movies...

Welcome to my little blog that blends a bit of nature, fashion, wanderings, and books in this dusty corner of the Internet. I hope you find it a moment of quiet in the wild today.

love this red sweater!
ReplyDeleteI love this laid back version of your style! It's amazing. And the cardigan is perfect.
ReplyDeletei bet u look gorgeous all the time!;) cant imagine u in a different way!
ReplyDeleteBeing that you wear dresses in the house with tights, I imagine you to be one of those glamourous mums (when you do have children) who wears dresses, necklaces and lipstick at all times.
ReplyDeleteNot that you're high maintenance, your idea of comfort is just different from the norm.

You look like such a little kid!!! :D Especially with your hands inside your selves. And the swinging too.
ReplyDeleteAww!! What pretty picture!! I love the setting, <3
ReplyDeleteWow. Your lazy outfits are a lot more dressed up than mine. When I want to laycarouns the house all say nothing will do but jeans and a tee shirt!! :D

These photos are so cute. Love your dress, and that cardigan looks like the snuggest thing ever x
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool place for pictures! And that giant cardigan looks uber cozy.. beats my lazy day outfit, for sure! I also wear dresses though on days off, hehe. :)
ReplyDeletelooks so comfy. And that field looks like it goes on forever! x
ReplyDeletethis looks so cosy and laid back! love it xxx
ReplyDeletewell it is a beautiful down-time outfit and I can see why you would want to lounge around in it all the time!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the relaxed outfit!
ReplyDeleteI don't wear dresses around the house in the winter, but I do in the summer. I don't own sweatpants, only one pair of yoga pants that are used for yoga. There are so many styles of clothes out there that can be perfectly comfortable for lounging without resorting to a Snuggie and beat up pair of college sweatpants. Hooray for you showing the world you can look pulled together no matter the time or place!
So essentially you look fantastic all the time!
ReplyDeleteI don't wear sweatpants either, but at home I generally just wear my PJs, because I have a lot of pets that can not only cover all my clothes in fur, but accidently put holes in sweaters with their claws and such.
It's funny, I find dresses the most comfortable thing for walking around in, but not terribly comfortable for lounging around in... the tights start to slide down and the dress rides up and wrinkles all over the place. I tend to change into pyjama pants at home... it also makes my clothes last longer.
ReplyDeleteThat cardigan would definitely feature in any loungewear outfit of mine however!
You look so cute!! And your photos on the swing are very neat. I'd look all crazy taking photos on a swing and you make it look effortless:) Perfect for a casual outfit.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely photos! I love the oversized cardigan, it looks so cozy and warm!

I love this laid-back look. And the cardigan looks the the comfiest cardigan in the whole world..
ReplyDeleteDresses are so much more comfortable than pants!

Aw this is so cute. x
ReplyDeleteI much prefer to lounge around in a dress as well. Couple that with an oversized cardi and there's not much that's cozier.
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed -- I dress in rags around the house!
ReplyDeleteI dont think people realize how easy it is to wear a dress! you just put one thing on and you're done with most of your outfit. Instead of fussing over coordinating tops and bottoms.
ReplyDeletemy lazy day go to outfit is a big tshirt and leggings...perfect for staying inside because our home is pretty chilly
i kind of divide my wardrobe into "work clothes" (coffee shop- locally owned, so no uniform) and "class clothes" (i try not to wear jeans to class!). i definitely love lounge clothes at home ... dresses and skirts are comfortable, but i dont like lounging in tights!
ReplyDeleteCute outfit! That sweater has been making the rounds in the blogosphere lately, but I like how you style it here. :) I also wear dresses off-duty, and am often told that I "don't need to dress up so much." I think nowadays many women wear dresses less often, so they forget how comfortable they can be! To me, jeans are uncomfortable... I much prefer a slouchy cardigan and roomy dress!
ReplyDeleteLovely photo's! and so cute!!
ReplyDeleteI might have to follow your lead and be better dressed in my lounging time. I always think about it, but sweats are warmer...
ReplyDeletethis is a lovely everyday outfit! you look super comfy but still put together! :)
ReplyDeletei wander, i wonder
That cardigan makes me warmer just looking at it! I love it--so perfect for a cozy winter day! And I'm with you about dresses being the most comfortable, but the thing that gets me is the tights! I have yet to find a pair comfortable enough to lounge in!
ReplyDeleteIndeed, that cardigan looks ridiculously comfy... plus it is really cute too... Double pluses!

Haha I actually like this outfit more than some of your other ones. I'd love to see more 'nothing special' outfits. The cardigan is gorgeous
ReplyDeleteI really like this outfit. The colour of the cardigan is lovely. One of my friends asked me before whether I ever just slum around in really casual stuff, like trackpants etc. I don't and pretty much wear skirts/dresses with the occasional jeans too! Everybody has different versions of comfort clothes.
ReplyDeleteWell this is lovely! I love the sweater. That is quite the nice outfit to be lounging around in at home.
ReplyDeleteThis is my fave. That sweater must now be mine!
ReplyDeleteOh brilliant, when you're not 'dressed up', very nice post in response =P It doesn't surprise me that, while your hair (amazing pony tail, so long) and flats are all casual like, you're still totally gorgeous rebecca and haven't strayed from your style at all.
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks awesome with this red sweater, plus I love the swings! I follow your blog religiously and actually have my own streetstyle blog. I am holding a personal style giveaway. The best 3 looks posted score some classic Chanel makeup and will be featured on my site.

You lounge around in a dress? You, madam, are more woman than I will ever be, haha. I always get too cold/can't sit like a lady/tangled up in my clothes.
ReplyDeleteI love these photos! It's almost like you're hanging from the sky in the middle of nowhere. So beautiful and peaceful!
