I fervently believe that we shouldn't be afraid to wear our favorite clothes every day and everywhere. However, when you like climbing trees, scrambling on rocks by the ocean, and in general being slightly outdoors-y, you do tend to be rough on your clothes. Case in point: my brand new lace tights from ASOS ripped on a rock the very first day I wore them. Oh well, at least I will have the memory of a blindingly bright day and crashing waves to comfort me...

Oh, shame about the tights. They look really pretty!
ReplyDeleteI'm always doing that though, and walking around barefoot because my heels were too much to handle!

oh I have those tights! And am always living in fear that they'll rip hehe xx
ReplyDeletei hate buying tights for more than $10 because i almost always rip them! alas, you do have the memories...
ReplyDeleteLooove this outfit =) And it's such a beautiful setting for it. The tights are so lovely, that's such a shame about them, I'm always ripping my tights, it's really annoying =( If they're not ripped too badly you can always cut them and make them into socks or something haha!

ReplyDeleteOh my, those tights are beautiful! Sorry for your loss, haha.
ReplyDeleteI really like the unusual combination of the clear girly (tights) and rough (bomber) aspects in your outfit.
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame, they are soo pretty! Actually, I once managed to rip my brand new patterned tights while putting them on :/
ReplyDeletenice jacket..

Your lace tights in this picture are sooo pretty! I'm sorry that they ripped :( Lovely pictures.
ReplyDeleteIt actually makes me kind of sad to hear that.
ReplyDeleteI, too, believe you should never be afraid to wear your clothes, and you should get wear out of them, esp if you paid for them. But wearing *good* clothes and shoes when being outdoors and outdoorsy: hazardous. I tread lightly or not at all in that aspect. But then again, my photography is in the safety of my condo.
I'm not as adventurous as you, plus my neighbourhood sucks for scenery. It's nothing but 7" of snow on the ground and ice sheets for sidewalks.

aw no those tights are so pretty!! at least you a got day out of them, i ripped a pair as soon as i put them on :( xo
ReplyDeleteThat happens to me EVERYTIME! Just this week, I ripped two new pairs of tights by just walking to a seat in the auditorium where we had our exam ... and no, I have no idea how.
ReplyDeleteAwwww, you NEED to get a new pair, those are great!

I ALWAYS damage tights and hate when it happens right when you get them. But you can't worry about it because then you'd end up in clothes you hate all the time. And that would just suck.
ReplyDeleteI recently splurged a little on some black tights, getting something thicker and warmer than usual. The first time I wore them, I went to see my friend's band play at a house party and got a little bit of weird gold paint on them, no idea how. I was bummed but managed to get almost all of it out in the wash. The very NEXT time I wore them was to another party at the very same house. Yeah, gold paint again, this time WAY more and it was impossible to get it. So now I mainly wear those under other tights for added warmth.
I love the tights! I am always on the hunt for unique tights such as these but then when I find them I inevitably get a run in them.

Oh no! Those tights are so cute!
ReplyDeleteThe same thing happens to me all the time though. (Of course, if it's small enough, or just a tiny tiny run, you can just put some clear nail polish on there to keep it from spreading.)
suuch a cute outfit!
ReplyDeletecute blog, too :)

Fantastic tights!
ReplyDeleteA pity about your tights - they're lovely. Your jacket, on the other hand, is glorious. What a great color!
ReplyDeleteThose tights are amazing! I'm sorry your ripped them, but i love you outlook!
ReplyDeleteOh man! I hate when tights rip! Those ones are beautiful too! Also, awesome interview with veronika! She's one my favs!

Boo, how disappointing! But I agree you shouldn't allow your clothing choices to dictate your lifestyle, especially if that's an active lifestyle.
ReplyDeleteBut you are still gonna wear them right?!?!! I know it's frowned down upon by some but pff I really like the look of ripped stockings. It makes a good contrast with the girliness, and enforces the aesthetic of my (and your) tree climbing, adventuring ways! x
ReplyDeleteHow lovely are those tights?! & I love the shades of the scarf & the jacket together.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how beautiful those tights are. At least you got some lovely photos! I like to really wear my clothes without fear. Wear them into the ground type thing. Goodbye is still pretty painful.
ReplyDeleteI love your skirt!!!and the thights as well;)!
ReplyDeletelove the print on the tights. love your skirt. you always put together the best outfits though.
ReplyDeleteboo! it's so sad your tights ripped because they're kind of amazing. i hate it when that happens.
