I wore this outfit on my last day in New York, but was far too exhausted to take a picture of it then and decided to re-create it once I got home...aka now. I threw the sweatshirt and blouse into my suitcase at the last minute on a whim and I'm so glad I did. The sweatshirt (shirt too actually) has appeared on my blog a number of times before, but it was awhile ago! It was my sister's sweatshirt from when we lived in Germany and we were both quite young. In some ways it's rather embarrassing that I still fit into a kid's sweatshirt even in a "shrunken" style, but I love the emblem so much I still wear it.

i had to smile just because i live (very) near nürnberg... well. that's not that important... but: you look simply great!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! Don't be embarrassed about wearing a kids sweatshirt, because you wear it so well!
ReplyDeleteI think the mary janes were a perfect touch. Something very simple and childish about this, but also very street.

ReplyDeleteAw, adorable! There's nothing wrong with sporting childhood duds-- believe me, if I could go back in time I would reclaim my old Club Monaco sweatshirts and NKOTB tees! *sigh*

ReplyDeletedid you and your family live in nürnberg? my parents live very close to nürnberg and i lived there during my teenage years - now that i saw your shirt i got a little homesick...
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love this outfit! It's so simple, yet original and interesting. You make it entirely your own.
ReplyDeleteI think it's so sweet that you still have and wear the sweatshirt. I love it over the button-down!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy the rare occasions when you wear pants and we get an entirely different silhouette. And the sweatshirt logo is super-cute... I still have some pieces from my childhood that I can squeeze into (usually because they were pretty oversized to begin with however). : )
ReplyDeleteI love the mix of the childish sweatshirt with the clean lines of the shirt. Really nicely done xoxo
ReplyDeletelove this outfit!

This is adorable! Also this is pretty awesome because my family and I also lived in Germany when I was young (military) and I have this red Heidelberg sweatshirt that I always like to pair with a blouse. Long live sweatshirts and button downs!

I know you love dresses more than anything, but I really must say you look lovely in pants as well! Would you ever consider wearing the high-waist-with-a-rolled-up-hem trouser trend? I'm so curious so see how it looks on you! (:
ReplyDeleteAnd it's ALWAYS okay to still fit into kid's clothes -- they give you (or US, I should say) more possibilities for dressing up! Plus, that really is an awesome sweatshirt. I love how you made it "grown up" with those heels! <3
oh my gosh you are not the only one!! I still have a bambi sweater that I refuse to give up - even though it's a little ridiculous to wear it now that i'm well, not 11 anymore.
ReplyDeletesuch a cute sweater!!!

ReplyDeleteoh wow. how long did you live in Germany for? that's pretty cool. You can certainly tell that sweatshirt was probably a little big on you but it is cool that it fits you even if it does fit small...
