Sunday Remix

Carven is one of my favorite brands so I'm still a bit amazed I have a skirt from it (the result of a 50% off sale and a number of gift cards). Despite not wearing it that much I do think it is one of the coolest pieces I own. Here are a few ways I've styled it in the past.

I love all of these looks, but the sweater over the blouse is my favorite! www.purplebananasandfudgeballs.blogspot.com

your Carven skirt is totally one of a kind and it became my fave since I saw you wearing it :)

ps: aside from the white button down top, i notice you wore it with dark colored blouses. if you don't mind, i would love for you to pair it with a bright colored ones, like yellow or orange. just saying :)

@czarina, I do like it with the white blouse and I work with what I have. I don't own any yellow or orange blouses; really I don't own many tops in general. So, I see your point but I think it's important to remember I have a finite wardrobe.

I love your blog and am super jazzed that I stumbled upon it. Anyway, I am wondering something, if you wouldn't mind sharing. It looks like you "tuck in" blouses with dresses? If so, how is this achieved? Also- I noticed you wear skirts, over full-ish dresses, and you don't seem to look bulky at all. How do you do this?

Thanks so much! :)

I know what you mean about disbelieving that you own something from a certain label For me it's a pair of Lanvin flats which I got at a bargain price on net-a-porter. Your Carven skirt is wonderful. A perfect mix of edgy and feminine.

@amaloo, sorry but there's no really trick--you tuck a dress in the same way you would a blouse, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. If it's too bulky or shows beneath the skirt then I scrap that outfit and put together something else; the ones I have worn have just worked--no tricks or special tips. Some dresses are just built slim and the waistband of a skirt hits them in the perfect spot and then they can just function like a slip or something.
